Description
I wanted to do something a bit more abstract this time. I chose a musical term as the name to tie in with the theme of this image. Not all notes in life are melodic. Sometimes it takes discord to get you to that next step.A bit of digital painting and a couple of texture layers.

very nice and intriguing work.
reminds me of chopin's music, as he was a great master of dissonance in his work.

...i thought "dissonance" was a photograph initially - reminded me of the kind of things i was looking at & shooting a couple of years ago when i was living in new zealand (the "anarchronicle of decay & change")- so much of the " abstract" stuff i'm seeing on dA these days is generic & uninspiring (to say the least) - i thank you for helping to change my mind & also for your kind words...looking forward to seeing more of your work (haven't had time to peruse your gallery yet but its on my list!)...

Thanks. Yeah I like this look, and I have tried to recreate that "painted" look without it looking like that is what I was doing. There are some good abstract artists around, keep looking. I try to make my work unique and original. If I see one more goth girl dripping blood and standing in a darkened forest.....
Thanks for the comments.

Very cool design. It reminds me of some paintings in my mother's house. I wish I could remember the name, he does very similar paintings, large colorful squares on canvas and divisions and such.

Thanks Rune. This is not the most original of my works but I wanted to see if I could create something that appeared to be painted. With my skills this was a close as I could get.

EEK That was a terrible movie. lol. It does have a weird evil quality about it though, like it wants to be nice but there is just something off about it.

Yeah creepy.
Like "Amityville" ...nothing too scary about it...just that idea..creepy.
"Drag me to hell" is pretty good. And "The unborn" got me when that kid just came out of nowhere... brr

I really don't watch many scary movies. I don't know why maybe because they are scary! When I was a wee lad, I screamed out loud in a movie theater, Every one laughed and my family still gives me crap about it.

Oooh.... ever since I was a little child like 3 years old...I loved scary movies
We had those nice Stephen King ones like "creepshow" (1 and 2)
Then I just fell in love with "Chucky" I kept watching it (part 2 was my favourite
)
yeah I've always been a bit of a bloody person -.-

This is really lovely. There's a lot of delicacy in the texture. The white markings also work perfectly against the darker background. The round stains on top remind me of cup rings after a cup of coffee.

Thanks for your kind comments and the fave.
I think the brush I used was a coffee stain, so you pegged it. I wanted a way to connect the "keys" and the bottom panel which I envision as "notes" That brush did it for me.

Nice work Tommy. Quite minimal but still with plenty going on here. I wouldn't say it's discordant my friend. Just an alternate harmony.

Thanks Rob. Dissonance is a necessary part of music, it gets you headed back toward harmony.
