The image started life as the egg which was the source image in a wallpaper art contest. I love the look of surreal art so I was determined to take it in that direction. So I started to think about what eggs are and what they represent, origins, life, fertility, etc. This lead me to the idea of an origin concept. I found appropriate stock, The woman to key on the fertility. I used a clothed woman rather than nude to show that she is a modern figure rather than an original being. A sense of traveling back in time to "The Beginning". That was the genesis of the title. I floated the egg, after some thought of just laying it on the ground, to give it the sense of mystery and power. The chains bound it to the earth and the life on the planet. I wanted to give some scale and and a bit more surreal look. So I added the "gear towers". These, to me, gave the impression of an technological rather than metaphysical source to the power of the egg. Quite a few textures and and some color adjustments and this is the result. I hope I didn't bore you with the detail, You seemed to want my thoughts on this image.

I read every word! I like your concepts and reasons for what and how you created this image. it is truly wonderful. also the egg is a symbol for the soul , ithink in asian cultures.

LOL This one was the source image for a contest I enter outside of DA. That is why it is an egg. But I think the deal with eggs is they are incredible and edible!
