Excerpt from Underground Arms Research Group entry C3-17997:

While craft produced firearms made by more or less competent individuals or groups were always a concern for many, the advent of early 3D printing technologies and their modern equivalents have made the illicit and undocumented production of large numbers of high quality firearms an undeniable reality that even the most extreme attempts to control access to technology and information just cannot change ... you just can't stop the signal.

These weapons vary greatly in appearance, features and quality, ranging from from barely functional cobbled together junk to professionally made.

The "MAC" family of firearms are probably THE stereotypical machine pistol and one of the most iconic firearms in history, copied and imitated by hundreds of groups over, at this point, hundreds of years, often but not always with nefarious intent.

---

This MAC-pattern machine pistol/ submachine gun possesses a fire selector that allows it to fire semi-automatically and is quite often equipped with some kind of stock. Furthermore it possesses both top and bottom accessory rails. Both the simple grip frame made from high density medium quality polymer and the metal upper receiver were probably made with simple industrial fabricators ubiquitous on many worlds in human colonized space.

The weapon was allegedly manufactured by or for a group of anti-corporate government revolutionaries operating in the Joint Association Zone.

The gun is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, a round of nearly unrivaled prevalence, and fired from an open bolt. This particular example is equipped with a rail mounted micro red dot sight, a simple flash hider, a vertical front grip and an adjustable stock commonly found on H&C automatic rifles.

The only markings present are simple safety indicators, an ace of spades icon and a barcode that contains information such as model number, serial number and code names for manufacturers and ponts of origin.
