Living by the sea makes me think about sea monsters a lot.In real life, would Lugia be fluffy and plumy, like a sea bird? Slick and rubbery like a whale? Slick and plumy like a penguin? None of the above?
So, anyway, have some PokΓ©mon fan art!

In the movies and show he was depicted as kinda rubbery. Makes sense since it lived in the sea and only came out when bothered. Flight could be aided by his psychic typing. Then again the feathered look looks prettier in paintings and such

Hmm... interesting question. Lugia could also have streamlined scales, like the prehistoric Mosasaurs did. Penguin-like feathers are a definite possibility as well.

Great job on a wonderful sketch. I think it would be sort of penguin-ish, but it can also fly, so I'm not sure that would work with physics, but oh well.
