Painting this really made me feel better. I painted non-stop and let it all out, so to say.I tried to reduce my use of special effects tools but in the end I only avoided the dodge/burn tool and used pretty much everything else.
That creature belongs to my oldest made-up species, they exist for about twelve years now. Well, not really made-up, rather based on some weird toy I had. In 'my world', they have the same function as coyotes or (small) wolves. They're playful, intelligent creatures and come in a large variety of colors and patterns.
Done entirely in Photoshop.
And yes. Please don't mention the tail feathers.

I love the spectacular detail on the feathers, they look very real and well, feathery. You also did a good job on the background, at least making it involved, simplistic, and yet plausible.

the simplistic impressioned bg gives it a nice atmosphere. i love its colour arrangment and how light some of its feathery-fluffy textures look. Nice colours overall, and body form and idea.
the beak looks off, the feets akward and the eyes dead, on the other hand. It looks like a loose painting though.
Are thoes three brown splotchy things in the foreground leaves?

Eep... that was rather direct. But thank you for sweetening it with a bit of praise. ^^ I agree with the feet/beak and yes, the brown things were supposed to be leaves... I always lose patience with my backgrounds (except in *counts* two cases). But the eye... I don't think a bird's face leaves you much space for expression (unless your name is Nambroth), they don't have too much of mimic... Anyway, thank you for your time. ^^

Wow, das hat so weiche beleuchtung und die befiederung ist echt klasse gelungen. Ich mag die positive Stimmung die aus dem Bild "emittiert" obwohl du eigentlich negative Stimmung reingehauen hast. ^^

Sides from the fact it hasn;t got peacock tail feathers, this is exactly what I saw in a dream where a peacock tail featehr from one of these guys was jammed down my throat o_o
Man that's freaky, not the reaction I was expecting to have when the pic loaded at all.... Truely awesomeness though despite I'll be all @.@ for the next few hours e.e

Aww! He looks so cute and fuzzy! I love the face. It's always fun to have your own little species, whether or not they're based off real species, other people's imagined species, or weird toys. Eventually you twist them into something that is yours. Then, you can make them into whatever you want them to be, and the results can be pretty cool.
