Description
I don't know what short term would refer to Kiara and Kovu, used KiaKo (KiKo?), since I'm feeling laaaaazy as you can tell with the lack of shading me background.

I drew this cause while I've drawn a bit of Vitani's adopted son, I never really drew the heirs of the Kingdom, and thought "Hey kind of need to make a proper drawing that isn't a one off thing with Ishi or thrown to the side," and here we are. Four cubbies for Kiara and Kovu (which fun fact, I was originally gonna give em six kids, five girls and one last born boi). Save for the little girl, I've drawn and shown all of em (poor gal, I've been neglecting her it seems).

Teens
Upendi/o; teen lad that's been caught by his younger sister (he was the heir)
Ishi; girl whose trying to take a nap on her bro's butt. (she was gonna lead the next Guard)

Cubs
Cheka; Gal whose caught her older brother
Jifunza; ugly duckling who is honestly just happy to be there.

Yeah, so I don't think I've ever made it a secret? But, Upendi/o, will never make it to be King, he passes away not long after this little moment I imagine (days after maybe?). Which his right to the throne had been questioned many times due to his health, he was never healthy, falling ill fairly quickly, and it was largely believed any cubs he'd have would also be weak health wise. Despite this, he didn't die to illness, I imagine he was just getting over another bout of sickness when he was killed (already weak, he wasn't very difficult to kill tbh). Which of course set the whole Kingdom, and siblings into disarray.

Ishi was meant to be the next Guard, and was happy to be that, but with her brother gone, she was expected to take his place. She didn't thrive there. And tbh, she couldn't imagine herself being the Guard either after Upendi/o's death, cause she was technically the only one present with a full Guard (Vitani and her Guard were busy with other stuff), and she shirked her duties. The fact her neglecting her duties lead to her brother dying, honestly traumatized her.

And Cheka and Jifunza? It's rare for someone to have another litter (honestly I set this rule in place so someone doesn't have half a dozen kids, and so I can keep it relatively in order kskdhfskjfsh), especially a royal pair. They already had Upendi/o and Ishi, what purpose would these two serve? It was simple. They would have none, they would be the first royal cubs that would be free of responsibility.

The only expectation the Pride had of em was that they'd probably have the next heirs, since they weren't sure that Upendi/o would have healthy cubs (which along with them Ishi also kind of also fell under this expectation).

With the heir dead, this kind of threw a wrench in Cheka's life at least. Now she was expected to be the next Guard, and honestly she hated it. She was independent, free reigned, she didn't want to be held by responsibility. Kind of forced into that life, Cheka kind of lashed out, especially towards her parents, Vitani and Ishi (she kind of also blamed Ishi for their brother dying, and used that in a lot of their arguments if Ishi said something about her and the Guard).

Where does this leave Jifunza? Well, easy; Ishi doesn't want to be Queen, and Cheka doesn't want to be the Guard, so they both hyperfixate on him. Trying to convince him to replace one of em. Honestly? He likes the idea of both of the roles! He does, but... he has to choose one, he can't do both. But both his sisters trying to pressure him to choose is rather stressful, and he tends to just play dead when they both start the same ole' argument (which is a lot).

Oh, as to who does eventually have the next heirs, since I don't exactly want to go over who stays in what position, or who Jifunza takes over for; Jifunza fathers the heirs. Why? I have no reason why tbh, I just feel like of the three living he's the one whose gonna have kids (Ishi is childfree, and Cheka probably is as well, or she's like my Vitani and would rather adopt). I imagine they are either spitting images of him, or they fortunately take after his mate/ancestors.

As for those that killed Upendi/o? They don't ever catch em really, they lose track of em after a while. I imagine they took a quick go through Hakuna Matata, and lost Vitani's Guard sometime after that unfortunately. Are they eventually found and brought to justice? Ehhh, I don't know tbh, I'm more inclined to think they got away with it. Though they didn't originally go to the Ndona Kingdom to kill any royal, Upendi/o was just at the wrong place at the wrong time (and if they knew he was a royal or not, doesn't really matter. They were there for a job, and they were getting it done with no witnesses, no matter what).

I kind of imagine he was the only thing truly connecting all of em together, the others don't really vibe well with one another, and he kind of helped em out.

Ehh, other then Upendi/o I'm not sure if they look like Kiara and Kovu kids? I can maybe see Cheka, but they don't exactly look like their parents. But that's fine, I'm alright with them like this, except maybe Ishi. Since Ishi was designed a looooong time ago, back when I didn't have Kovu as the son of Zira and her mate, he was the brother of Beauty Spot and some of the other spotted girls, which is why Ishi also has a beauty spot. She's the only one I think that does need to be adjusted, probably color adjustment and maybe removal of the spot. (I should also include Jifunza, but his whole purpose is that he looks nothing like his parents, that's why I created him)

I think that's it for now? Can't think of anything else to add for these guys, maybe next time I'll have an actual picture ksdjhfskjfhks

**Ohhh forgot to add, but the reason Cheka and Jifunza have no responsibility is due to Kiara and Kovu abolishing Betrothal Laws in Ndona. Meaning they won’t be betrothed off like they normally would’ve, if it weren’t for their parents getting rid of the laws they’d be shipped off to other Kingdoms.
