"Mgeni can't say I'm not devoted... not anymore," the boy found himself chuckling, his eye throbbing painfully, tears threatening to spill out. Inhaling shakily through the chuckle, the boy moved his paw away from his face, grinning sharply.

He couldn't even find it within himself to think of an excuse for his parents, Mufasa, or the Kingdom. Not yet at least.

But he knew, he forced his one eye open, baring his teeth at the painted wall. He knew for Mgeni, he'd proven himself, he was going to show everyone that he wasn't among those animals he was above them. Beside Mgeni.

He could already see Mufasa, could already hear him sighing about the mark, how it would mar him for life. Mufasa, the weakling, he would take him to that monkey, see if there was a way to prevent the scarring.

He'd probably get the Mark of the Guard painted on his shoulder, him and Ahadi had been pressuring him to get the mark as of late.

Sneering at nothing, the boy chuckled softly, forcing his eyes open, "Fools, it doesn't matter now if they put that muck on me." Half twisting around, he had already decided to flee to Mgeni, just until he knew the scar set upon him, "For I will carry the true Mark."

A mark that proved he was above them all.

Ok one more post then no more. I wanted to kind of show my explanation for how Scar... got his scar I guess.

I honestly didn't start thinking this until they introduced the Mark (Scar?) of Evil in TLG, and then Vitani just assumed Kion was evil... cause he's got a scar?

So I wanted to make it some kind of weird initiation thing, that was started by Zira's ancestors. Kind of, one guy had a scar, and other lions just sort of gave themselves scars over their eye to show "hey I'm with this guy." These are the guys Askari fought in the murals.

Normally lion Prides don't mind scars, they're cool, and probably seen as attractive. But ones where it's over the eye is seen as suspicious by Ndona, cause that guy and his followers. Especially single scars over the eye, since they're rare.

Also because other then one theory, I didn't like the stories for how Scar got his scar. Which there are approximately three (and a half kind of).

One; Parent (or Mufasa). This is super popular, and a lot of people go with it. The Mufasa one is supported by two sources in TLK, I think the director of the Animated movie said it was Mufasa who gave Scar his scar (they were Cubs and he said that in his head it was probably an accident), and the remake which it's implied to be done when Scar challenged Mufasa.

Two: Buffalo, from the TLK6NA stories, which idk I feel like he'd be torn up a bit more from a Buffalo, but it's possible.

three: Snake, which I feel is the worst one of the lot, cause snake bites don't work like that skdmlaksskskjs if there was scarring it wouldn't look like that at least

Of the three, I like the Mufasa reasoning best, cause it could be a connection to Scar not liking Mufasa, and I almost went with that once upon a time. Whether it was an accident or due to a challenge, can't remember what I was going to do.

But I decided to go this route, where Scar simply gave himself the scar, and possibly lied to everyone about who gave it to him (hell even Rafiki lies about it to the kids). Which isn't hard to believe, Scar is a liar.

Plus it separates the other scarred boys with whatever gave them a scar. Kovu-Parent, Kion-Snake (both their scars look different in my verse), and Mgeni(aka Strange Lion) he will be from a Buffalo. Maybe I'll give him more scars, or just leave him as.

As for Zira and her ear notch, who knows. Maybe that's also a Mark of Evil, but it was given to the mates of that Lion and his crew, or it's just an ear notch that she got. I'll think of something.

Also here are the colors I got for teen Scar, I try to remember to do this whenever there is a color shift from daylight colors, especially with characters I haven't shown in a daylight picture.

Also, for Mufasa and Scar's childhood, I was thinking the other animal to harass them throughout their youth (maybe majority in Mufasa's youth), would be Baboons? Cause that was originally what was facing off against the lions (like Scar was also a baboon, baboons were the baddies I guess). that or Gorillas, since apparently every wet season they need to make sure there's still peace between the two Kingdoms (guys... just decide already, don't figure it out each year).

I think that's about it, maybe I'll be back, or I'll keep my promise and disappear for a good bit.
