A couple friends from my school and I had started up the tradition of watching a couple episodes of Cowboy Bebop every Friday night because none of us have ever seen the anime before.
I love this show so much with every fiber of my entire being and it has had such a enormous impact on me over the course of the month or so that I have been watching it. It is, without a doubt, my favorite show of any kind of all time.
I was originally going to make a post about everything and my experience as soon as I got done, but I found myself staring at a blank document. I just felt like a wall of text just wouldn't properly convey my appreciation for everything and there is not a strong enough word in any language on this planet to describe how this show makes me feel. So I did what I do best and I drew a picture.
I did however, make a tumblr post two weeks ago after finishing episode 13, about some Cowboy Bebop stuff and what it means to me and you can
read it here if you want, but its kinda lame and cheesy because I was crying the whole time haha
But enough typing already.....

I have not seen this show in forever! Been meaning to get it but I have a long standing list of anime to finish. (Ed looks oddly zoned out. Her neck looks slightly long but that could be me...)

I get a lot of comments on how "sad" everyone thinks Ed looks, and yes, it is true that she does look very spaced out compared to her usual happy self, but I really wanted to create a sort of somber mood to the picture because it's what I felt in myself after the ending of the series.Β
So Ed siting there grinning and flailing away at her computer while the rest of the crew sat and looked off at the sunset didn't really fit with the feeling I was trying to capture haha. It supposed to be kinda like one last big get together with the crew before they split off and all go their separate ways eventually.
Also her neck does look kinda long i realize now, but lets just say that it's because she's leaning against the wall and looking upward B)

Hmm, only thing that bothers me with this is the length of Ed's neck. Seems a little long. Than again ed is/was all ways kind of lanky looking in the series

I'm sorry if it doesn't look right but the piece is finished and although there are mistakes I don't plan on going back and fixing them. I don't really see it as that big of a problem haha

I loved the show, but the last few episodes made me mad/sad. T^T

I actually really loved the ending to the series. Even though it was sad, it was incredibly fitting in my opinion and I also kinda always knew in the back of my mind that that was the only way it could end??? IDK but i would not have it any other way~

Oh man the Jupiter Jazz episodes are my two favorites (next to mushroom samba~). I cried so hard at the end of part.II when the Space Lion song kicked in and started playing, but not because I was upset about what had just happened.... I was crying because of how incredibly beautiful and powerful the show was and how inspired I felt just by watching it.

I'll admit I'm not big on anime, but I absolutely love this show. Β Coincidentally, I happen to think that it takes place in the same universe as Firefly.Β

I've been watching anime for nearly two decades, and I've seen hundreds of series to completion.Β I am both happy and sad to say that, after watching the ending of Cowboy Bebop, I haven't run into a series that finished with such an invocation of bitter-sweetness while at the same time being completely satisfying.Β It became almost a literary necessity for the ending to happen the way it did, and I'm not afraid to call this series a work of art.Β Due to the time in my life when I first saw it, I think it will stick in my memory for the rest of my life as one of the highlights of what animated storytelling can achieve.Β
