Great design and concept. The atmosphere is perfect: the pose, the use of light, everything. The soldier could be standing watch, and trying to see something moving in the darkness, or on a roadblock, or customs inspection. This is really great work.

That is meant to be a hand-held lantern of sorts, something approximately the size of a pair of cigarette packs one atop the other for better directional illumination.
