Description
An illustration regarding Eldar Guardians. This is probably what I would prefer they look like, for the record. Forget the established nomenclature. My ideas are sometimes not entirely in line with what is currently on the table.Related:

Being a 40k fan, I can say these are far more interesting than what Eldar currently looks like.

Thats nice of you to say. I hope a lot of people think so, and if they do, they certainly do it without the superman physique and wild, crazy, awesome backpack (that houses nothing) that the current guardians have.

Yeah, the current Guardians (However 40k looking they are) do not really seem to be that cool. Though these ones are indeed awesome. I wish I had sculpting skill, cause I would definitely make a squad or two of them.

they don't look that different from the GW designs and in my opinion if someone's going to redesign the eldar's looks they should make 'em look more technologically advanced i mean the eldar are supposed to be really high tech in fluff but i think they just don't look as high tech as fluff says they are
and no offense but the way you redesigned their armor makes it look less streamlined than the original and the way you made they clothes kinda baggy instead of the original tight bodysuits almost make these guardians look no better than imperial guardsmen

I'm not exactly trying to redesign anything. These are pretty close to the original when Eldar Guardians were depicted with having mesh armor, before the change of the models and the simplification of Eldar appearance in the art. Some of them even have the original style helmets. Some have newer ones, and there are some other bits in there like the old, the new, and then there's the slightly different. These images are meant to go aside text, eventually, very much illustrative.

I think, Space High elves with mesh/chain mail armor are exactly what they are a design stepping stone on the way to a real unique appearance which we know today as Eldar.
If you have the jun 2000 issue of the white dwarf at Hand reference models from 1987 to 1999 are displayed which show the development.
...which sums my opinion up to old vs current designs
But to voice some useful input : I find the breast armor of the female guardian very ..hm nrrg "unimaginative"
It is the classical "show female gender through breasts" thing which could use a design overhaul: maybe through a design which dosen't feature the secondary sexual characteristics in such a plain way, something which keeps the silhouette (side and front) enough to represent a female.
A detail which jumped my mind, hope you find this critique useful.

You're not wrong. For everything there is a season though and we are talking about the game with Mad Donna, Sisters of Battle, Daemonettes, and just about everything in the Dark Eldar list.
I think you can see more sensitive and sensible images of female warriors in armor in my own gallery.
