Description
Just a back view of the Acclamator class SD. I put a lot of work into the engines and heat sink, trying to make them look right, and you couldn't see them in the other pic, so I wanted to show them off.Front view: fav.me/d708csi
Other ships to scale: fav.me/d708hcz

True, but it is also a Star Destroyer. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Acclam⦠See the table on the right side.

It can be both. The term 'Star Destroyer' basically means it's a ship that is probably capable of taking and holding a typical star system on its own. Saying "Acclamator class Star Destroyer" makes as much sense as saying "Nimitz class Aircraft Carrier"

uh maybe not on it's own, maybe two or three per system

Well, it's just good tactics to have more than you think you'll need.

I know. but you can take them out them easily though. step 1)take out communications. step 2) neutralize the hanger bay doors. step 4) knock out the engines. step 5) go underneath and destroy the lie support

I guess most systems just don't have the resources to do that.

Thanks! It appears I was right in thinking that it would be the rear end of the Acclamator class Star Destroyer that people would like. I always thought it had an iconic tail design, but I thought it was just be who saw it that way. Given the number of comments here compared to the main shot though, that doesn't seem to be the case.

indeed It's an unusual tail design, makes the ship unique in a sea of grey wedges adorned with flying bridges that is every other star destroyer ever.

It is notable though that the Venator class has a similar tail design, though somewhat less pronounced, and overshadowed by the tall bridge tower. asphiax.files.wordpress.com/20β¦ I think the Acclamator's design is more unique and memorable though, because the tail section isn't so over-cluttered with engines as the Venator. It's simply two main and two secondary engines on either side of the main cooling fin, which melds with the shape of the main hull and looks like it belongs on the ship. On the Venator, the tail has as many engines as Episode II had extra lightsabers, and the tail itself looks tacked on and unnecessary. Like it's trying too hard to show how it's evolving into the ISD.
