Here's our next rider, Kamen Rider Black RX! The direct sequel to Kamen Rider Black, even having the same main character and everything. That's kinda cool.

Black RX is the first rider to have drastically (i.e. not color changes) different forms which had specialties. RX's default form is the black and green on the left. His strong defense form is the bulkier Roborider in the yellow and black. The more agile form is Biorider in the blue, red, and silver. These forms are all pretty different, being completely new rider designs. Different belts, different helmets, everything. It's kinda odd how the first from-changing rider practically became a whole new rider design. Each form also has a different squiggle symbol on the torso, more or less looking like: default has R1 (makes it look like RX), Roborider has R2, Biorider has R3. The forms also have their own weapons, but I have absolutely no intention to make them.

Generally, I like the designs. My main nitpick is that Roborider looks too Metal Hero-y. I would've liked the forms to look more similar, but it makes RX unique in that sense.

Black RX became the basis for Saban's Masked Rider adaptation. I don't remember ever watching it but the general consensus seems to be the adaptation was awful.

Technically speaking, RX is both the last Showa rider and first Hesei rider. Japan's Emperor Hirohito (posthumously named Showa) died early on in RX's run, so the majority of RX's episodes aired in the current Hesei era. So it's more in a traditional sense RX is included in the Showa group because he was created and originated in that time frame. That also means the final three 'Showa' riders, Shin, Zo, and J are technically from the Hesei era. I think using the 'Showa' and 'Hesei' labels are actually meant to mean during Shotaro Ishinomoro's life (Showa) and post-life (Hesei).
