when you don't see those little bird too often, you kind of forget how small they are itty bitty tweeties

I was so happy today when i saw lots of little and bigger birds in a zoo-store today, they seemed so happy and cozy and chatted away with eachother and with me. Somehow the caged life didn't bug them , but one seemed to want to get out and go visit a friend in another cage. Can't help but wonder how their lives would be in the wild.
And lots of little fish too, wonder where they all live for real, and funny looking tiny shrimp.. all kinds of small animals. At least your photos of the wild ones don't make me feel sad or guilty, they decide their own fate, and just visit us for feed.

Future generations of surviving birds will have learnt to avoid these man-made new dangers. Birds who live in cities have become pretty street smart. lol, funny and true but still.. we make a mess of life as we know it.. just for profit.. instead of asking 'is this dangerous in some way? - then lets not do it' . lets find a better way...

I sure hope they learn. I just hate to hear about so many of our eagles and other birds being killed each year.

to our winter doves who are now more gray and blue....
Great capture....

Ours will slowly go back to that beautiful suede brown come the spring as they will blend
in more with the mud and grasses...That is how I know spring is here, my doves turn brown....

Sometimes my yard has 10 or 15 here at one time. They usually feed on the ground but seems one visits my make shift feeder now and then.
