Description
Remake of an old painting! I was startled by how much I changed his face.Original Version

I am not very confident on my more "realistic" digital works, so comments are appreciated!

Hello Taina-dOs
your painting look really wonderfull. The lighting is so nice it caught my eye in the preview. I like the warm light from candles (?). The braided beard is also very realisitic looking. Well done. I looked at the before-painting and you're right the face changed quite a lot. It definetly looks better and realler than in the original version. But I think you still could improve the shades a bit. I can see you did something I also made 'wrong' and got that pointed out. Skin is hard to draw because it also reflects light from the red flesh underneath. Basically in the shade the skin tone turns darker, more saturated and more towards red as it would be in neutral light. This video describes it well:

But surely it's more difficult here because you have to take the yellow light into account, so I can't exactly say whats off but just something is wrong a bit about the shades.
If I am allowed to be honest I like the background in the original version more because the dots and particularly the stripes on the left are too irritating. They also ton't fit the lighting somehow... I'm not sure xD
I hope I could help you. All in all very nice work
Edit:
Oh I forgot I'm from

Thanks for the feedback
Aye I thought there was something a little amiss with the shades, specially on the lighter parts, but I couldn't figure it out. I'm noticed I'm a little reluctant on using red on people, I fear it may get Too red XD Anyway, thanks for the tips and the video! I'll check it out
As for the background, I think I was a little clumsy with it. I didn't like the old background because it felt too empty, I wanted to give it some shapes but I didn't know what to put. And I didn't pay much attention to it I was thinking, maybe it would look better if I did something more subtle? Like... lighter dots with less defined shapes? I don't know.

I´m from
Yeah! A plasticine doll that seems to be taken from a "Wallace & Growit" movie, but completely detailed.
But in reality it is a painting that seems to be made of plasticine. But beware: When I say Plasticine, I say it in the sense that it is very difficult to do realistic work in that way.
Remembering now that it is a painting, it is also a great job, giving a great variety of details and multiple scales of grays and browns, in addition to having a magnificent shading and contrasting with the diffused scene.
The expression of Oin he has is naturally visual and sympathetic, resembling Santa Claus, the proportions are good and the best is the important improvement with the Original drawing: You can see a much better work accomplished than it was yesterday

I hope to continue seeing the improvements in future Remakes. Go ahead!

That’s exactly what I was thinking, it’s exactly like a character from the Wallace and Grommit movies xD

Thank you
I'm not sure if I want to delve into "realistic" digital art anymore cuz, you know, a lot of things to pay attention to
I have a few other remakes in mind, all still from 2013-2014. But I'm still figuring out some things about them

Looks wonderful, much depth and subtle color and warmth. Evocative. Congrats.
