When promoted to a rook, the pawn is given magical equipment. The equipment gives the pawn enhanced strength and defense. The strength is enough to hold the 2 handed axe for battle.
Promoted pawns are different than the real counterparts. They will be revealed later.
Armor inspiration: D3 templar and barbarian.
