Wonder if it has something to do with his "species". My own series doesn't allow for "half" anything (human and mutant genetics are too different to have half breeds. Different mutants may even intermarry with each other and humans, but children simply can't be born from the unions) however, werewolves, for instance, being part dog, are often VERY friendly and vicious protectors of their families and friends and pharaohs are zealously curious inventors.
So hmmm.... are vampires perhaps drawn to lost lambs? (Could be a good or bad thing.)
