It's finally done!

This piece was done for my illustration class and, in turn, for the ADDY poster contest. The theme was supposed to be "heat," which I'm not sure I have here but I tried to use the theme by setting this in a desert environment. I also wanted the idea of a long, arduous journey to get somewhere fantastic, hence the massive space ship/port in the background. The ship is also a play on the ADDY logo, and I'm quite pleased that, unlike in my initial sketches, it's no longer immediately obvious. It's also meant to imitate the style of the traditional sci-fi book cover.

The fonts used are Bala Cynwyd (for the title) and Anklepants (everything else). The setting is adapted from a photo by Jordan Tetzloff of the Montana Badlands, where we went to find fossils in the Pierre Shale. Photoshop CS4.
