Here you go. First Chapter, first chapter-cover and first impression of what the style of my comic will be like.
I love to do my comics black and white with screentones like a manga... Not because I'm lazy or something... it's more a thing of personal preferances, really... I mean, these pages almost take as much time as a normal illustration of me when I do them in digital paint, so there's really no benefit when it comes to saving time or something...

BTW...
I want to update the Mendertale comic in small packages of 3 - 5 pages once I'm done drawing a whole chapter. This way you will be able to have a little bit of storyflow with every "Comic-update".

Took me quite a long time to make, but I really love to use this style/ technique for cover arts.
I tried a different style for part 1, because it has fit the whole thing better, but I think I'll go back to this technique when I start the draw the second part.

This one actually strikes me more than the cover itself - it's kinda heartbreaking to see a flower and a locket in the same place. Somehow gloomy and makes me wonder about life of Frisk at the time story takes place because this looks almost like a grave for me.. Oh boyΒ Β

Yeah, you might could get the impression, alright. And you're not that far off the truth, but it's not a grave/ an empitaph, but more like a symbol. The story beginns at the ending of Undertale. You can say it means, that the past will be left behind to embrace the future ahead of the characters. Yet you will still remember the events hat lead to this result.
And no worries: Frisk is fine as is the rest of the bunch

Many do much better than me and I too make a lot of mistakes and still have lot to learn, which is also a good thing, because I can improve this way. I just gained a bit of experience and knowledge over the years, but I'm fairly normal and not that special at all...
Besides... To me... there is no real 'good' or 'bad' when it come to art...
Everyone has their own taste and preferences, which is great, because it makes us all unique in a way, right? And that counts especially for art.
Yet I really thank you for your support and interest on my project. Comments like yours will keep Mendertale up and running.

Thank you. ^^ I'm used to make a lot of manga and doujinshiΒ about 7, 8, years ago and still have a lot of material left I can use for Mendertale now. But actually it's a combination of mixed media, because I also use digital paint for it

Well, alright, I'll spil it a little about how I do the comic-pages.
I always start with traditional pencil-work. First rough sketches, then fine lines and basic position of light and shadows. The inks are done the digital-way wia graphic-tablet, but sometimes I also use black ink, liquid eraser, nip and brush when I need a different texture for the page. For example, when I need a certain background, pattern or effects on the characters. 
The shadings (mostly) are actually real screentones (you know those: the gray shades used in manga all the time) in combination with digital brush-work. I've digitalized my screentones for Mendertale by scanning them at very high resolution.
Of course, you can also buy programs with a ton of 'tones to use for manga and such, but I like the traditional folios always better. By scanning them in, you still have the little production-flaws of the folios, which makes them feel more 'alive'.
Thing is... Screentones are really expensive and not easy to get where I live, so this was a good way to save time and money...
There are a few other steps I do for a page to be finished, but I'll keep them a little secret for now.
