Love the post-apocalyptic look, but I think they don't really care much about it..

You truly are a master of light! The beams of sunlight and the glow of the motorbike lights against the gloom of the souk make a truly impressive image.

Thanks
The smoke showing up the beams of light come from the exhaust fumes from the constant traffic running through the narrow lanes. That's one thing I'll never forget about Marrakech, the choking traffic pollution; makes for an interesting photo though

I love how the motorbike lights and the lightbulbs glow like fireflies, and the slanting sunlight...it seems there is a lot of light, but the people and shops are still so dark, it's mysterious

The souks are amazingly atmospheric places. If it wasn't for the fact that people are very hostile towards cameras it would be a photographers dream.

is it a privacy issue or superstition?

It's the spread of Wahhabism from Saudi Arabi. Wahhabism is a very strict form of Islam in which pictures and photographs are banned. Not good for a photographer.

I seem to remember that the Wahhabi-inspired Taliban went as far as destroying the Bamiyan Buddha in 2001 (sad).
This picture is definitely one of my favourites out of the whole series. The light is amazing
