Hmm... So many PS platformer heroes have a partner. I’m seeing a pattern here... ANYWAY! Here’s another PS platformer classic! That... I never played. :’D But I still dig the characters and the games look nice. And they just had a movie too! Too bad I didn’t hear too good reviews of the movie... But I’ll surely check it when/if Finland gets it on DVD/BluRay

I got ratchet and clank going commando from the used game store, brought it home, completed two levels, blasted off to the next one, and a glitch occured where it would never endingly cycle through zooms of the space ship. I was sad, but then I bought the very first one, and I love it!

Definitely check out the games. Even the least commendable, Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank for PSP, are still entertaining little romps.
As for the movie, don't let those stinker reviews turn you away. I can't help but to think some people have a vendetta against Insomniac or something. One small drawback of the masterpieces made by Disney and DreamWorks is that they've given that obnoxious "higher art" attitude new room to grow, with video game films like Ratchet & Clank now being "beneath" thought-provoking family films starring furry cartoon critters. Not every movie from here on out needs to be Zootopia; I don't want every film to be. Just the fact Ratchet & Clank even have a movie is a victory to me.
It's like Grimroth says: "Being a hero isn't always about doing big things, just right ones."

The main thing I've heard that the movie is like watching the cutscenes from the game. So you're better of getting the game because then you get to also play.

YES! Ratchet and Clank! The games are just a lot of fun. Mostly because of the quirky and colorful characters and the ridiculously awesome weaponry that Ratchet gets to wield. Just ignore what the critics say about the movie version. It's probably because it didn't have Disney or Pixar or Dreamworks attached to their name but the movie came out alright. Had a fun time with it just like the games.
Anyway, totally love the picture of this dynamic duo.

Well true. They did use some cutscenes from the game to use for the movie and vice versa. Though the movie shows a bit more while the game is mostly the action segments and is more like the very first Ratchet & Clank game that it's retelling in terms of the events that happen. I think the way this was done was that Insomniac and Blockade Entertainment were working on the game and the movie at the same time. Since both medias were pretty much telling the same story there was a bit of time saving tactics used. And at least for a movie based on a video game they were able to do something that many previous video game based movies failed to do: being able to stick to the source material.
That's kind of my take on things. I just enjoyed the movie as much as the game. And let me tell you that when you see the movie you're going to have a swell time.

I enjoyed the movie, though I agree with the assessment that it could be a half hour longer. The biggest problem with the movie in my opinion is that it doesn't do a good enough job explaining things to people who haven't played the games. If you've played the games, great, you'll be on the same page the entire movie, it's very faithful, the characters are great, and it's a great mix of comedy and drama, just like the games. If you haven't played the games, you'll be lost from pretty much the beginning, the characters are thrown at you without enough explanation, and you'll likely not enjoy the zaniness.

Yeaaahhhh the movie wasn't great. I wouldn't say it was terrible, but it was paced horribly and there was less Ratchet AND Clank together. (they coulda made the movie longer too) I've played all of the games up to A Crack In Time, ten times over though so I had too many expectations when going to see the movie |D
As for the games, they're always tons of fun to play. I think the Future series is great since all three follow each other with a continuous plotline. If you ever do play the games, I'd suggest the very first game and Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time~ :3 Definitely play the first game before all others though because it's more frustrating to play at times and you'll appreciate the change when you get to the rest of the games :'D

The movie was actually much better than the critics make it out to be. While not the masterpiece it was hyped up to be, it was not garbage. Seriously, Rotten Tomatoes was being way too harsh on it.

The movie is really good tho, alot of people say its just like the game but alot of the heartbreaking cutscenes are only in the movie.. i give it an 8/10 for sure. ot sure why people always give it a 6/10 tho.. it was AMAZING especially for a game movie :3

The movie wasn't nearly as bad as the reviews said, it was mostly poor advertising. My boyfriend and I didn't even know it came out yet, and when we did get to see it there was only one other person there. It feels like its best to either play the new game or just watch the movie though since the game's cut scenes are just movie scenes.
But it was good, they pulled in some of the original voice cast which was great and it felt reminiscent of the original as far as jokes and such. There were also some easter eggs and cameos, so when you get a chance to watch it keep an eye out for those.

For example the part when Grimroth gave Ratchet Advice and then Ratchet gave the avice to Qwark.. didnt happen in the game and that was a heartbreaking part
