It's almost ironic how they're LESS mature about losses in Splatoon than they are in the even saltier world of Smash. Seriously, going from smacking your weapon into the ground to simply CLAPPING still makes no sense.

I'm surprised too. I think it would have been hilarious if they were as salty about losing in smash as they are in their own game.
Or maybe the joke is that inklings only care about turf war. And smash is just for fun for them so they don't feel that salty, haha

It's weirder considering that we've seen Sakurai include characters who don't clap when losing, like Pokemon Trainer, Diddy Kong in Brawl, Ice Climbers, and Jigglypuff. Maybe the Inklings are just glad to be accepted this time, since there are many, MANY characters who deserved a spot on the roster (I still think Tails was jipped).

It's true, the inklings can be so dramatic. Since I use the splattershot, my inkling always hits the ground when she loses. But I've seen that the ones who carry rollers are pretty good sports. I'm usually pretty happy playing the game regardless if I win or not, so long as I get a few kills XD.Β

That's the whole point of the game! Two teams battle against each other by spreading colored ink and they try to cover the battle arena on their team color. The team with most ground covered with their color after 3 minutes wins the game.Β
