I've been wanting to do this fanfic, along with 2 others, for mermay for a couple of years now and I've finally got it done ( I had to put it up WIP actually but it's finally done)

I redesigned and renamed my mermaid OC

Okay, So Tintin, Snowy and Captain Haddock are in Florida at a nautical museum hosting a special exhibit on The Unicorn, Lupin the 3rd with Jigen and Goemon are also in Florida relaxing before a job, While Tintin is out scuba diving he meets a mermaid named Lazuli and they fast become friends (it might be a bit more for Tintin), Later Captain Haddock meets Lazuli when he and Tintin save her from sharks while there stranded on a life boat/dinghy after a run in with the mob on a cruise, then Lupin shows up in his own recreation of the shark shaped submarine and they all join forces to go find a treasure in a cave temple

In the cave they find the treasure (a huge pearl), but then the bad guys show, a squad of combat divers, who are also after the pearl, they shoot a poison dart at Tintin, the group splits up with Lazuli taking Tintin deeper into the cave where there’s healing waters, she tries to heal Tintin but it’s not working, as a last resort she uses her own blood to heal Tintin (various stories tell of the flesh and blood of mermaids having healing powers), it works and saves Tintin but he ends up becoming a merman, after the initial shock Tintin takes it in stride and has faith that he’ll somehow get back to normal and holds no ill feelings toward Lazuli

The main conflict of the story boils down the search for a weapon of mass destruction called the Guardian of Atlantis, a giant robot like Talos but with Laser blasts and seismic attacks (the big pearl being part of it's control system), the bad guys who want it a mafia boss working with a siren mermaid (who kind of holds him under her sway)

and amidst all this is the big ravel that Lazuli is Captain Haddock’s younger half-sister cause their mother was a mermaid (the captain thought she died when he was a kid but she left when her secret was at risk of being exposed)

Details

In my story, Atlantis was the capital city of the merfolk of Europe, situated in the Mediterranean in Ancient Greece with it's aforementioned guardian (which Daedalus helped create), when Atlantis was destroyed a new smaller one was made in the Caribbean/Bermuda which was later abandoned with the coming of European explorers

In one part of the story the siren mermaid villain kidnaps Captain Haddock and turns him into a shark merman making him her slave, like that episode of the Aladdin TV series, the Captain regains control and they manage to turn him back to normal
