Well okay... To "do" someone ( or I guess in this particular case something ) is to have sexual intercourse with them...

In this case if the homework was asexual it could care of all that reproductive stuff without help ( help meaning the person )

Know what I mean?

You cause much hate here. Even thought there are less than 1% asexual humans, those who REALLY are asexual would hunt you to hell if theyΒ΄d see this.

ItΒ΄s a shame that no Admin has deleted this. You are sarcastic to another sexuality. I donΒ΄t think such a thing belongs to deviantArt. |<

that's not what asexual means...asexual means a lack of sexual attraction. at least get the word right if you try to be witty.

"Asexuality (also known as nonsexuality[1]) in its broadest sense, describes lack of sexual attraction,[2][3] or interest in or desire for sex.[4] Sometimes, it is considered a lack of a sexual orientation."

argument over.

TR0LLHAMMEREN In reply to awkwardanimals [2010-05-25 22:25:03 +0000 UTC]

"Asexual reproduction is reproduction which does not involve meiosis, ploidy reduction, or fertilization. Only one parent is involved in asexual reproduction. A more stringent definition is agamogenesis which refers to reproduction without the fusion of gametes. Asexual reproduction is the primary form of reproduction for single-celled organisms such as the archaea, bacteria, and protists. Many plants and fungi reproduce asexually as well. While all prokaryotes reproduce asexually (without the formation and fusion of gametes), mechanisms for lateral gene transfer such as conjugation, transformation and transduction are sometimes likened to sexual reproduction.[1] A lack of sexual reproduction is relatively rare among multicellular organisms, for reasons that are not completely understood. Current hypotheses suggest that, while asexual reproduction may have short term benefits when rapid population growth is important or in stable environments, sexual reproduction offers a net advantage by allowing more rapid generation of genetic diversity, allowing adaptation to changing environments."

it said "I wish my homework WAS ASEXUAL."

The definition you're using is slang that has become more common place than the original biological definition. And I'm to lazy to get out my scientific dictionary to prove it (also I think I sold it).

I think you have your sexual orientations mixed up. Asexuals have no sex drive whatsoever. In other words, if your homework was asexual, it wouldn't 'do' anything, and you'd still have to complete it yourself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheAzureDolphin In reply to jas09 [2009-12-28 00:12:18 +0000 UTC]

Actually, the asexual being used here means to produce offspring genetically the same as the parent organism. So, technically, if homework was asexual, you'd have two blank sheets of paper instead of one! Whoo~!

See, you take all the funny out of this stamp when you think about it too much.

Hurr, it's okay. Out of all the people on this stamp defining the 'true' meaning of 'asexual' to this person, most everyone has been going for sexual preference instead of what their science class taught them. (Only one other person stated the way of reproducing, if I remember.)
I also totally understand forgetting double definitions. They're the worst. o-o;;
