I use expos as a time to ensure my equipment works, get creative angles, and gather videos for TikTok. I absolutely love the creative freedom they allow. As the official photographer, you're expected to sit in a certain spot to get the "money" shots, so it fills my creative heart with happiness when I can photograph outside of the standard.
