I love the design of this character!
The shapes are used in a way that makes him feel real, and that's hard for most artists. Even I haven't gotten the hang of making my characters feel "real".
This is going into my Favorites, Tanimatic.

I think people are only saying he looks like Mrs Brisby because he wears a red cloak. Β I know another mouse character who wears a red cloak; Saxon from the Mouse Guard series by David Peterson. Β
This character doesn't really resemble any of these characters except for the red cloak.Β

Reminds me a bit of Redwall, but also Rescuers Down Under.
He has a very strong face for a mouse. It definitely lends to his character.

Your Charakter reminds me so much of Mrs.Brisby from "The Secret of NIMH" : )

Cool. I think he looks a lil bit lionysh, especially the faceviews. But don't get me wrong, I like that. Makes him way more interesting to look at. 'Cause now he looks brave, strong, cool and,cause he looks a lil bit like a little lion, a little bit naiv.

When I saw Red and White I thought the main character was female for some reason, haha. Now I realize it's a MAN. My bad.
Still looking forward to the finished animation short, though. 8) Red scarves and rats are cool! There can't be enough rat characters.
Have you tried different colors on the main character while you were at designing too? Because when I look at the thumbnail of this I think "groundhog" more than "rat". Just saying. ^^
