Dr. Zoidberg, Fry, Lela, and Bender from Matt Groening's Futurama. I was looking for a pop-art Futurama poster for my boyfriend for Christmas (he's pretty much obsessed with the show) and I couldn't find one. I was getting really frusterated when it hit me... what am I an artist for if I can't do this kind of thing for myself? So I did.This is, I believe, the fourth picture that I've ever painted in acrylics. I love them, they've become my new favorite medium.

Hey, thanks! I'm happy to try and answer questions if you have any, but I don't really have a formal technique. I just kind of paint and stuff appears on the canvas. The paints themselves are nothing special, just a mid price-range stuff called Liquitext Basics.

very nice, I know it can be tough but the colour came out nice for acrylic.

Thanks! I agonized over the colors when I painted the background squares and as I started each portrait, and I had to keep telling myself that it was okay if I put such-and-so color down now, because it would look alright when I filled in the rest of the painting.

acrylics are like the hardest medium for me, i can never get the look i want.

Yeah, I think that I already commented back about to someone else about Fry's eyes. I had trouble making them completely round, so they just kept getting bigger and bigger as I added more on to them. I tell people that he's been licking frogs with Homer.
