I keep hearing these questions from her while looking at this masterpiece. My heart.... stings, and aches and it's so painful. Yet, it's still filled with love and passion as my mind keeps getting filled with realization, that no matter if she'll become a princess or not, I'm going to always, always love her.

Based on the size of her horn and length of her mane, I'm guessing this is Princess Twilight the freshly-minted alicorn. Perhaps she's crying because she's had to ascend to take the place of the recently-deceased royal sisters?
Whatever the story behind it, this is gorgeous and kind of heartbreaking. Great work.

Even in her terrible sadness the scene is so beautiful and poignant. Even with all of her power and the wisdom of age she has to face loss. If I were to guess it was probably a little at a time, at first, and then one day it finally occurs to her how much things change – had to change – but that doesn't make it any easier. And along with the promise of new wonders in the future her past is just impossible to lose.
And she'd never want to.
You did a gorgeous design for her older and (guessing by her horn and her tiara now as her crown) much more powerful self. Maybe her mane hasn't changed yet because she's just now learning to cope with change, but then again perhaps I'm just reading way too much into it.
