I got to try out a ton of new materials this summer! I got too excited about it and this is what happened. Whoops
Black acrylic on canvas paper between layers of encaustics, with oil paint, gold leaf, wire, cut paper, and screws on a plywood frame. July 2014.

Somehow I liked better the black and white version that you showed in your process pictures but I just saw that bird's head like craved on wax and I just love it (I never heard about this encaustic technique before!)
