Make me think of attack of the humaniods.

I had to Google that.  That movie looked like a gory flick.  Those bloody movies can be fun, as long as they are stupid too.  Around Halloween I watch a movie or two like that.
.
I can sort of see a resemblance between that creature and mine.  My creature is a deep sea being who is mostly  solitary and bothers nothing.  It was fishing nets dragging the ocean floor that pissed him off.

Yeah, humaniods from the deep had one of the worst plots of a horror movie. So these hyper-mutated coelacanth are all male for whatever reason and they attack the town of Noyo in oder to kill all of the men and mate with the women. Firstly, thats gross and in the movie numerous women are just okay with having sex with the fish people, the movie seem to skirt the line between a very bizarre porno and 80s slasher flick with a dash of jaws.

Ewe.   That does sound a waste of film.  I think I will pass on Humanoids from the Deep.  I can usually laugh off the corny monsters, but creepy, weird, fishy sex is a no thank you.    That is coming from the gal who drew Abe Sapien ten times.

Yeah, I liked it on an insanity level because its just so crazy, corny and gross all at the same time. Also, I can't really imagine that there would be that many zoophiles with a fish fetish in one small town.

Troy Mac  Fleour  , uhm.  You know, that guy on The Simpsons liked the fishy's.
.
Uhm.
.
I prefer my fish baked, barbecued, of fried.
.

Look out Humanoid fish persons.  I have a rod and reel.  And a frying pan-I can use 'em too!

This merman has the organic and cool looks of an 80´s movie monster! I love him, Tarp!
great job at his undersea-minions too (I wouldn´t want to tread into that water with those serrated teeth awaiting! )
great job!

You like the Merguy  I like him too.  Most nice replies, they like the fish more than the dude!
.
These are deep sea critters.  You can still go wading, hon'.  This guy hates those nets scraping everything from the bottom of the ocean floor.

Very cool, I love the fish especially, reminds me of old school 80s movie monsters!
These guys would fit in great with critters, gremlins and killer tomatoes!

Piranha?
.
I never saw The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.  Classic.  But I  have never seen it.  I have seen some real  "treasures."  But that's one jewel I missed.  Probably belongs in the famous: What the...? file,    You know, the file  where viewers jaws drop and they wonder what drug the movie makers where on when they made the thing?
.
Meh, that dumb observation of mine aside, thank you for the reply  I appreciate it greatly!  Thanks for collecting this one too.  It was really fun to draw, and I am delighted that you like it.

They made a bunch of them didn't they? I only saw the second one and the damned theme song rattles around my head to this day!
There was even a short lived cartoon series on tv when I was a kid, the 80s/early 90s were such a crazy time for children's entertainment!
I love those old silly monster movies as well, they scared the crap out of me when I was young despite their intended silliness, I remember whenever my parents would take me to the video store I would work up my nerve to wander through the stacks in the horror section, psychotic dolls and skeletons and werewolves staring back at me from the shelves, I could barely stand it but I would find myself in there every time all the same somehow.. oddly enough jim henson's "labrynth" scared the hell out of me!

I woke  with the theme to the: A-Team in my head.  It is playing right now.  What worry's me is when Sympathy for the Devil starts,,,
.
Labyrinth is one I saw a the theater.  I saw the Dark Crystal there too.  One movie we begged to see(my brother and I)  was The Food of the Gods.   Those old lady eating rats were to much.  My mom had to take us out.  (we were little).  Skeletons!  Sinbad.  I am older than you, I saw those movies when they came out for the first time.  I still love them too.
.
A new Hellboy is coming out.     I read some HB comics and BPRD.   I don't have much desire to see the new flick though.

I never ended up seeing food for the gods, I noticed it in the video store when I was a teenager and it looked too dated for me by then, the movie cover was super cool though if I recall.
I still haven't seen any hellboy movies yet, I keep forgetting about them, I'm not a huge movie watcher so I've missed a ton of good ones no doubt, feel free to suggest any to me though, monster movies especially, it's hard to find good monster movies, most horror over the past decade (more like 2 decades) has been largely about deranged psychopath murderers, not monsters.

I'm not sure if you enjoy werewolf movies (there's barely any good ones for some reason) but if so I'd have to recommend to you: "ginger snaps" (the first one) and "dog soldiers".

Hi
.
I am sure that The Food of the Gods is pretty cornball now.  I was a little kid when we went to see it.
.
I like werewolf movies.   I think I saw Ginger Snaps.  I tried to watch Dog Soldiers, but something happened to interrupt that.
.
I like monsters.  They are a fun escape for me.  Stuff that is too real doesn't do that for me.  I like ol' Freddy well enough, and I can laugh at Jason too!.
.
I liked the newer version of the Wolf Man, Silver Bullet.  ect.

willisrharrower In reply to tarpalsfan [2019-04-15 00:41:36 +0000 UTC]

I like the imagination on display with monsters, I have a harder time seeing the psychopath serial killer stuff as much more than imagined violence and it's just not what draws me into the horror genre.
Though, obviously it's cool if it's something someone enjoys, lots of people like it, I just more often than not find myself enduring those kinds of movies than enjoying them.
I recall one I enjoyed well enough when I was in my late teens: "strangeland" I believe directed and starred by Dee Snider from "twisted sister" fame and it had the actor who plays freddy kreuger as a concerned member of the PTA or something lol, I can't exactly recall correctly I'm sure, but it was a non supernatural horror movie that was alright, haha maybe if I watched it today I'd have to walk that statement back though..
I know it had a pretty great soundtrack, the song Dee did for it was better than the entire movie!

Cat' wants to see a new horror flick.  Bright Burn?  or the new Chucky thing because it's voiced by Mark Hamill.  I am a fan of his, but meh on Chucky.
.
I am mostly a tea toiler, but I could go for a monster movie and something besides tea.
.
I don't think I replied properly to your reply.  Sorry. I will do better next time

Did you end up watching any new horror movies? (sorry for the late response)

No, But I read Stephen King's Full Dark, No Stars.  Sometimes what I read is far scarier than a movie.  I mean, the images my mind conjures up is more vivid than even imax.
.
I don't even know how I found time to read anything.  Always swamped with life stuff to do!  You too, I bet.

willisrharrower In reply to tarpalsfan [2019-06-22 21:43:53 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, I think reading is way scarier than watching as well!
Yes, though I enjoy reading I rarely do any these days, between drawing and housework I veg in front of a video game for a bit if I can get away with it.
So glad you got some time to enjoy your book though, I hope everything is going well with you and your family!

I am by myself for a few hours today.  Except for my pet buddies.  Once in awhile I have to do something for myself.  If I don't, I will loose it.  I still will get the dishes done.
.
I recon that you do that too.
