Cactus try number two. Chalk pastel and colored pencil. My scanner was unkind, the real drawing is not fuzzy and a little darker. I am going to fuss over this one, so if you can offer me some advice as to make this better, let me know..
A gift for my dear friends in Texas. They were there for me when my mom was laid to rest.

I really think you surpassed yourself with the textures and beauty of this acctus ^^<3 its flowers look perfect (I can tell! : I´ve one of these exact same cacti growing on my terrace! <3 ) and its soft, plump nature is perfectly conveyed!
It gives a warm, cute feel to me, I have no idea how it could be even better! ^^
It depends on what you were looking for in it...to me, it looks absolutely beautiful this way!
Maybe what you´re looking for is something more tridimensional? (if it is that, you might want to add justa teensy bit more shadows for the areas less exposed to the light?...but that´s entirely optional-
Or perhaps softly overlay a complementary colour to see if it satisfies your taste better? (e.g. making those extra small shadows violet or purple to enhance the greens? idk! )
I´d be tempted to tell you not to touch it because it looks perfec t to me...thezse advises are only given since you asked for some, I actually think the drawing is perfect the way it is!

I love cacti. I used to have a cold hardy prickly pear here. Beautiful. All the sudden some true bug attacked it. Those things killed my plant.

I did this twice. I liked the darker colors on the background and cactus better on the first drawing. But, I did not realize that the pencil drawing would show up under the yellow chalk pastel. I could not erase it for some reason, under the flowers.

It is not to late for me to add a little purple under the flowers. But since I mail it today or tomorrow I am almost afraid to try. But, being what I am, I know I will!
