i'm very fascinated with your work sir tarzman. they are all clean... i can't see any sketch lines. do you draw this directly? i mean without using anything like a circle first and some lines to guide you in proportion?

Yeah, look closely and you'll see the lines. There's a very light line running down the middle of her forehead, and then through the middle of her nose on the drawing. I always start with a basic head shape and then a guidline for eyes and nose. From there I block out the shapes of features on the face, working very lightly with the pencil, and then work to refine lines.
With practice comes accuracy, so since I've had a lot of practice my lines tend to be very accurate. There are those times when I have to work at it, it's not always just going to come out the way I want it. I keep lines light and loose in the beginning so I can always adjust lines if I have to.
