Значит, у меня не было достаточно хороших книг и по большей части не задумывался над тем, кто создаёт эти рисунки.

Возможно, дело в том, что книги издания недавних лет.
В последнее время даже самые уважаемые издательства стремятся сэкономить на всем, чем можно, и в том числе на иллюстраторах, что, конечно, ведет к ухудшению качества самих иллюстраций, потому что опытные художники отказываются работать за такие цены.

Не, новых книг точно не видел, говорю о том что было десять лет назад и давнее.
Зачем сильно экономить, учитывая большой тираж всё получается не очень дорого.. иное дело экономить на бумаге, материалах)

10 лет - это еще относительно недавние по моим меркам х) Я росла на книгах 30летней давности, а некоторые были даже книгами детства моих родителей.
А насчет экономить - говорю, ориентируясь на свой скромный пятилетний опыт работы иллюстратором на фрилансе.

Сейчас выпускают очень много книг и не самого лучшего качества, просто. Да и писатели редко понимают что такое хорошее художество.

Interesting piece here, I really like the bright color scheme on display here.
The amount of detail on the fox's fur is really incredible; I also like how the color changes slightly to kinda reflect a light source.
I really like the watercolor background though, especially the twilight colors on the sky behind the fox.
Definitely awesome work though, I could totally see this appearing in a children's book; especially with the smirk the fox has here.
