Description
A semi original weapon I made for my imperial world. The Nikolev Mk VI Autogun belongs to the Astra Militarum regiments of Kray Mira, though it is mostly used by it's Planetary Defense Force. It is a bullpup selective-fire Auto Weapon designed to serve as a cheap and dependable firearm for urban and close combat. It is often employed in high-risk operations, which must combine high damage output with versatility and reliability. This weapon is a more compact and better balanced version of its predecessor, the Nikolev Mk III, having a standard rate of fire of about 900 RPM. It possesses a simple fire selector allowing the user to fire single shots, three round bursts or fully automatic streams. The oversized rounds that this weapon uses give it an excessive recoil and muzzle flash, but also excellent damage capabilities. To compensate for its recoil this weapon was given a bullpup configuration in onder increase the overall control the user has over it, and its barrel has had a counter-weight added to try to counteract the weapon's tendency to rise off-target during automatic fire. While testing confirmed the counter-weight did significantly aid accuracy, it also added to the weapon's considerable weight. Like its predecessor, this pattern only includes iron sights mounted along the top of the weapon.
Like any other Auto Weapon, the Nikolev uses caseless ammo with projectiles made of metal, plastic and/or ceramics, and can be fed via double or quad stack magazines. Additionally, it can fire a large variety of ammunition types, such as incendiary rounds, explosive micro-shrapnel, bolt rounds, ripper darts, solid slugs and stun shells.
As with my previous post, it's kinda inspired on the Soviet Union and modern day Russia. Hope you like it!

Autoguns are probably beneath the notice of the Mechanicus and I imagine gunsmiths can produce their own stuff with little to no oversight.
