BE WARNED: This design/plan and/or information about it may change in the future! Changes could be a complete overhaul or just editsThis is because I wanted to give you guys a plan/map of sorts to go on if you want it, but Stonebridge is co-owned, so if *LeavingNeverland doesn't like any aspect of it when she's back, the map will change accordingly. For now, you can assume this is right
This is the ground map of the whole Stonebridge Estate, created as a private RP equine showground.
Read more on Stonebridge and the HFGF here: #Bridgewater-Cottage
As a quick disclaimer - I'm awful with scales and getting things in proportion, so though the grounds are supposed to be huge compared to the House, I'm not sure all the rings and arenas fit to size. I did try, though, so sorry if one of them looks way too large.
A full list of the facilities at Stonebridge can be found HERE so I won't repeat the whole list. This isn't the best looking map in the world - it's pretty shoddy actually, but hopefully it gets the ideas and concept across.
The front of the property is mainly taken up by open grazing. There are a number of turnout fields dotted all over the open land and smaller, individual paddocks line the outside edge of the West Drive and the space between the garage and lane to the race track. This is for a few reasons. First is appearance; when arriving to the Estate, you will be able to see horses grazing on your trip down the drive and the facities are not revealed before your first glimpse of the Big House. Additionally, having the facilities at the back means that shows and events aren't interrupted by new guests arriving and settling in.
The main house was designed by *LeavingNeverland and can be seen HERE . The gardens surround most of the house, but only the main paths are marked here, so feel free to have fun and create some of your own.
The cross country course consists of portable fences (though you can see the horse shoe arch start gate in the bottom right corner below the boat lock). These fences can be set up anywhere (as long as it doesn't cut through the drive or show ground) but are often left out in a tested course design in case you want to train during downtime.
The facilities are then grouped towards the back of the property. They're all accessed through the back of the stables or directly from East Drive. The Show Court is a yarded area connecting the main facilities and is usually busy with horses; whether walked or ridden. Pedestrians have marked paths to the spectator areas, but if they stray, they've been warned that horses have right of way. For some events, external businesses can come in with stands and set up in the middle, or down the track to the Circus Tent field to sell their wares. There's indoor and outdoor stadiums, indoor and outdoor simple arenas and an extra outdoor school, accessed away from the main Show court for anyone who wants to school in quieter conditions. The looped Runway is a well maintained, level galloping field for open use or prebooking. The jousting arena is separated slightly, and the parade for the class will walk from the stables up and into it.
The race field is quite wide and large, since there are no rails; tall corn/wheat lines the track, taller than most horses, so there are some blind turns. And for fun, there's a campfire clearing where the corn is kept cut, and an old barn left standing also in the field. In summer they're not in much use, but they make for some fun nights in autumn, especially on Halloween. The Shooting range is set apart in case of stray arrows. You are always firing to the boundary wall and you can opt to just shoot on the field, or include the more tricky targets that extend into the woods. The narrow boat is moored just upstream of the South Lock and horses only have to pull it a little way around the bend for the pulling class. The lake on the property has some hilly surroundings where the water is deep, and a flat, beached edge where the water is shallow. There's plenty of space for swimming - you or your horse.
The main/significant paths have been drawn here, but there are two areas where the paths taper away. The specific fields haven't been drawn. Feel free to have fun thinking up all kinds of pathways and mazes for these bits. You're free to explore pretty much anywhere, too, so long as you don't ride through anyone else's classes. The woodland, ruins and fields are all open. You can cross bridges (and stiles are dotted around for remounting help if you need to get off to close and open gates) but there are places in the rivers where it is safe to cross, too.
If you have questions, first check the journals in the group about Stonebridge House, and Staying at Stonebridge. If your questions aren't answered there, by all means ask away

Well it is XD- its all flat colours, and the lines are wonky, the wood is all one colour and scribbled and the water and paths aren't between the sketchy lines...
But that aside, thank you! I'm glad you like it so much ^^

Well I guess it depends how detailed you want your map to be it's nicer to look at than an OS landranger in any case!
I have a thing for maps. You know that

True, that. I guess detail is relative
And I do know XD; you're not alone. I've had an idea in mind for a while now, and have been debating drawing a map for it, so if I find the time, that may end up posted, too

Ahhhhh, I love maps! ^^ This is brilliant! I love that the river has lots of little tributaries and bendy bits.

Me too
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. And of course! Little river networks make for fun hacking ^^

Gorgeous map, I love the river running through everything, and how organic all the pathways are. The only thing that seems really concerning is the singly tiny car park which looks like it's at least a quarter mile away from the main arenas. ^^ How do people park trailers? How do guests get to shows? Etc.

Thank you!
And that's on purpose. When you arrive, you park your trailers on the boundary and a shuttle bus, operated by staff, take up your horse and all your things for your stay to the house and stables for you (you can go with them, or you can be taken to the house in a horse-drawn carriage). And then you can get to all the show arenas via the shuttlebus, or by riding. It was a deliberate choice so that the estate wasn't invaded by lots of horseboxes and trailers, since that's a part of 'modern life' that you leave at the gate .
Also, for the size issue; the carparkΒ is actually quite big, when you see how big the main house is, compared to it ^^.

Ah, I see, that's pretty cool! I like the idea of going to a horse show without seeing big metal boxes on wheels everywhere.

Exactly Everything's very natural inside the esate line. We want you to be able to go hacking and gallop in the open space; not have to dodge lorries
