"Feeling good today, huh?" Tabby smiled, leaning against the wooden wall of the grooming stall, watching as the roan mare's lip twitched at the sensation of a brush running down the underside of her chest.
"Yeah," Aashi inhaled deeply, bracing herself against Kona's shoulder as she stood up straight. "Trying a new treatment, seems to be giving me a boost for now." Giving Kona a good once over with the soft bristled brush, Aashi set it aside and reached for the mare's well oiled, shining black bridle. Hanging it over her shoulder, she carefully maneuvered around the grooming stall, one hand always on the big, gentle roan. Unbuckling the mare's halter, she let it slide from Koan's face and drop against the wall, the mare's hardly flinching an ear. Taking the bit in a well mannered fashion, Kona stood patiently as Aashi buckled the straps one by one.
Reaching to her side, Aashi slid her arm into the crutch that leaned against the wall. It wasn't walking out to the arena entirely on her own, but it felt damn good to be walking out to the arena at all. Her parents had fussed and complained, but Aashi had put her foot down sternly, figuratively and literally. She knew her days of walking around were limited to effectiveness of treatment, among many other factors, and she certainly wasn't going to waste any of her good days still sitting in her wheelchair.
"Come on darling," she crooned to the mare. "Let's go for a walk."

And to see Aashi able to stand a bit with Kona is just so heartwarming. Their story is an inspiration for all of HARPG.
Not to mention the image is so gorgeous - especially Kona's braided mane and gorgeous flowing tail.

It felt so different drawing her standing! But I really want to show how MS fluctuates. She's not bound to her wheelchair, there's ups and downs. They have a long road ahead of them to reach Aashi's goals so I definitely want to take the chance to show her strengths and challenges along the way ^^

You did an awesome job capturing the fluctuation of MS and how each day can look differently... and it's showing up in your art/story of these two wonderfully.
I love being able to watch this progress (both with strengths and challenges) and see what exactly will befall them with time.
