Small and surprisingly agile, these pocket sized pollen spreaders are most often compared to stoats, though are curiously more closely related to some species of primates. Their long, slender, snake like bodies have given them their most common nickname, the Hibiscus Dragon. Playful, curious, intelligent and social, these creatures can make entertaining pets, but be careful - they lack loyalty to their owners and will easily run off if not caged.

They have high metabolisms and require a near constant source of sugar water, making them a little high maintenance in care. While their primary diet is nectar, they can also occasionally munch on flower petals, sugar cubes and small pieces of fruit.

Though usually quiet, they can exhibit vocalizations in the forms of squeaks, chirps and chortles, especially when acting in defense of food or territory.

Though classified as mammals, these odd little creatures often display vibrant, reptile-like colors on their pelts. They also, strangely enough, reproduce through egg laying. The monotreme females will lay a clutch of 1 to 2 eggs, incubating them in well hidden, humid nests made of fallen leaves and other debris. Once hatched, the offspring are nursed like other mammals until they can fend for themselves.
