Davis Sagepaw walked through the tavern door rather quickly. The hare was supposed to be at the market buying vegetables, but here he was in the heart of town getting a drink. The hare was at the counter getting a pint of ale when he noticed Geoffrey, his older brother, seated at one of the tables talking to a grey fox who, after a little bit, started crying for some reason. The hare would have to be careful, he never trusted foxes of any kind.

While Geoffrey keeps going on about God-only-knows-what, you take the opportunity to explore your surroundings and look around the busy tavern. You see Orla the bear handing two frothing tankards of ale to a white furred wolf. Behind you, a hare in a blue vest is walking up to the counter and looks almost shocked to see Geoffrey. Upstairs, what looks like a minotaur is listening to a tipsy black and white cat's song, and on the other side of the balcony you see a very drunk lizard leaning over the rail as a hyena seems to check on him.
Then a deep realization comes to mind; These people all have lives, identities, memories to share, but you don't have any of those. You begin to wonder, what was your life like before today? Did you have any family? Were you a respected citizen or maybe a low-down scoundrel?

Perhaps you were-"Say, I never did catch your name laddie." You're snapped out of your reverie as Geoffrey startles you with that statement. And then it suddenly occurs that you can't remember your name. You can't remember anything, not even your own name! Saddened by this sudden revelation, you look down at the table, putting your head back into your paws as tears begin to well up in your eyes, but the hare seems unfazed and says "Oi, cheer up lad, we'll just have to find a name for ya." Geoffrey moves to the chair next to you and places his paw on your shoulder. "And we'll fix your memory too, eh?" You look up at Geoffrey through tear blurred vision, sniffle, and nod in agreement.

A sudden *thunk* causes you to jump as a rough voice says "Here, you look like you need this more than I do." You look to your right and see that the white wolf has put one of his ale tankards in front of you. You nod as if saying thank you, and the wolf accepts this and walks away. Geoffrey glares at you in mock jealousy and remarks "*Feh* Why do you get free ale?" You smirk at the hare, easily picking up on the sarcasm in his voice.

Suddenly, Geoffrey calls out "Davis, get over here! I need to talk to ya!" You jump again, and a hare wearing a blue vest walks over and sits at the table. The hare gives you a suspicious look and Geoffrey gives him an *ahem* in response. The hare introduces himself to you as Davis Sagepaw: Archer-in-training and professional food connoisseur.

You simply smile and shake the hare's paw in response; You can't introduce yourself without sounding insane, and you had essentially become a mute after this morning's scare with Orla. Davis is confused at your silence, but after Geoffrey explains as to why you can't talk, he seems to understand. After a couple minutes, Geoffrey suggests that the group find something to eat, and it is discovered that you and Davis share a common interest in food.

So far, you like being here. It's only late morning though, and you're not sure what the day still has in store for you.

Aaaaaaannnd there's part 2 of the tavern scene! I figured that I would try to use the scene maker on Heroforge again. So far, it's indecisive as to whether it wants to work or not.

There are a LOT of characters in this scene. They were all randomly created for this scene and most are just extras that will be reused later on. Still no pants to be seen, but just you wait!

This is the scene that introduces the following: Davis Sagepaw, Orla the bartender, a whole bunch of extras, Henry the mouse, and that white wolf that I need to think of a name for, as well as a cameo appearance by one of the lizard folk from www.deviantart.com/taurusprodu…

As for the stressed out protagonist, I'm thinking about naming them Finn. What do you guys think?

The story as a whole is inspired by the Redwall series.
