I don't know if you're trolling or not, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
The "obsession" with Nerf guns is that they are relatively safe (you don't need protective eye gear and don't get welts unless the Nerf blaster is heavily modified) and (arguably the biggest appeal to them) Nerf blasters make great props/replicas.
Also, what is your definition of practical? Saying airsoft guns are more practical without any context makes it so it could mean one of many things.
