Hey, guys, long time no art. I've been prowling around the site for a few weeks, but haven't been able to post nary anything because of school and personal reasons. I've been kind of reluctant about posting this, just because I've grown to hate it with the endless hours I've worked on it. It is one of the pieces going on to the VASE State Competition in Houston; I may post the other soon, if I gather the time and motivation.This piece was something totally different and interesting to work on... it started in the downloadable program Alchemy as a flurry of shapes, but ended up morphing into some sort of reality reminiscent of the infamous Rabbit Hole. I get tired of the clichΓ© "Alice in Wonderland" pictures, though, so I ended up taking a more post-apocalyptic spin, making a composition that represents my view of fallout shelters.
Then again, I would really like you, the viewer, to decide for yourself what a fallout shelter is: a beautiful escape from the unavoidable Rapture, or a claustrophobic nightmare that bastardizes the broken home.
Excuse me for the formal language, I've been writing an essay, and just now took a break to post this.

While this was initially not while I was looking for... I must say it is an unappreciated masterpiece! One man could some up my entire experience in finding this piece, "It was a happy accident."
Clearly if Mr. Dali was still walking the Earth, This would be another piece of his!

Trippy, to say the least. He must be in Vault 106. Someone better fix the gas leak in there. Kinda reminds me of Genndy Tartakovsky's stuff, the creator of Samurai Jack.

This would have to be one of my favourite pieces of arkwork I've seen so far, I just can't stop staring at it. It's so good. I don't even know what to type about it.

Fallout shelters are cliche' so give up on that, but this is a really good image. The first time befuddled me, but 20 mins of Korean tv and pursed lip thinking finally let me see the rare comedy of this piece.

I love how I saw this in the Daily Deviations, and as a thumbnail I thought it was some sort of weird machine, then after clicking on it, I find it's nothing like that. . .

Lol, oh no, don't worry, the piece was itself turned out to be pretty amazing regardless, I must admit though, it was interesting when I looked back at the thumbnail and started to focus more on how the shapes seem to form the look of a machine on a thumbnail, only to click and see something else entirely. I think it does indeed make for a very interesting piece.

Mmm, it is an interesting idea eh? I quite like the idea of using various images and shapes that all are distinct in what they are, but when put together, show a larger image.

This would make an excellent poster... This picture is so wonderful that I don't even know where to start. I'm in awe of it. It gives my consciousness the inspiration to delve into so many different places... I can't wait to go through the rest of your album on Deviant Art to see what else you've made.
I hope that you can rekindle your love for this piece of art through all the positive responses that you have received today and will in the future. This is seriously a picture that I would consider buying. In fact if I had the money right now I can guarantee you that I already would've ordered it.
