Description AKA HOW TAZ MAKES COMICS SO DAMN FAST 8U

Also, LONG TUTORIAL IS LONG 8U

So I hope this provides some insight into how my colouring process works, why I use thick lines, cel-shading, etc, and why I don't use 'more realistic' thin lines (Wand Tool doesn't grab thin lines well).

And to kick the norm on all the other tutorials, where the subject is generic and happy, you can watch how I create a picture of Victor dying in the desert. Because that just so happened to be the page I was working on at the time anyway, so why the hell not? XD

heh, sounds a lot like what I do for the colouring, barring I use multiple layers. It's a personal preference though. You make it look so easy to convert~

I still bite at shadows though

Like I said to another user, I did use to use multiple layers - One layer, one colour, but it wasn't fast enough or efficient enough for me, thus moving into this style here. XD

As far as shading goes, that's a practise thing - the more you do it, the better you'll get. Also, it never hurts to challenge yourself either. Try more adverse lighting, like night or sunsets, and you'll find general ambient light/shading becomes WAY easier all of a sudden. XD

*nods with interest* fair enough. I've gotten pretty fast with it, but I don't do it often. I dunno, guess I'll have to play around sometime.

I do from time to time. The results don't always make it into my gallery XD

Vic~ You look gorgeous. *shot'd*
Ironically, this is almost the EXACT SAME WAY I color, except when I do the flats I select only the area of a single color without the reddish base. And it still takes me forever. Ahahaha. You're too good, Taz. Great tutorial~!

I used to do each colour on its own layer, but it just wastes time, and with each OCT I've been a part (as competitor or admin) I've had to push my limits with EVERY comic I put out, thus moving onto this method used here. One layer colour makes less mess and stress! XD

Efficiency is definitely key when you're crankin' out comics as fast as you are.
It must work~ because I see two pages up in my inbox. *runs to take a peak*
