Oh no,
Breeding is for a different thing called IVs.

See you get IVs from birth, EVs you earn by fighting.

A tip is things that are high in a particular stat tend to give EVs in that stat.

So KOing a geodude gives 1 defence EV, KOing an absol gives 3 attack EVs. you max out after a while......
