This is adorable! I watched the movie and it's one of the few Pixar films I like. (Something about most Pixar films kinda miss something.)

Quite a few plot twists that rubbed me the wrong way but in the end it was worth it.

Did it make you cry? I tell you I loved it so much I saw it twice. My dear friend in Mexico Alejandro said it was one of the most accurate representations of Mexican culture. And one of my best friends growing up Roberto whose from El Salvador said it extends to other Latino culture as well

It's like Disney tried to copy undertale in a way. Still not a bad movie.

It has nothing to do with Undertale in any wayΒ

I don't see how. Miguel going to the Land of the Remembered while still living is a bit different than Frisk falling down a hole into the Underground. Either way, it's a concept that's existed for countless centuries so it's less "copy Undertale" and more "let's use this ancient concept for the film's backbone".
If you're thinking about the Skelebros, there's a real possibility that Sans (and possibly Papyrus) is a Revenant, which is an entirely different creature than the Land of the Remembered's populace. Given how he acts in certain runs, Sans has many of the traits that mark a Revenant, such as revenge-seeking and the ability to bleed (not all Revenants were complete skeletons).

ugh Coco was such an adorable movie... the only thing that bothers me is how similar it was to The Book of Life .. however both are pretty awesome movies, but if i had to choose? .. Book of Life, because it came first, and i adore Toro song
edit - this is an awesome and adorable drawing by the way, lol i got side tracked,Β

Though people still say that Coco is a rip-off of the book of life..the only thing they have in common is the protagonist is a musician and it takes place on Dia De Los Muertos..isnβt that like accusing a Christmas movie of ripping off another Christmas movie just because they both have Christmas and Santa clause in it

SheWolf-Daydreamer In reply to TC-96 [2018-02-05 00:09:35 +0000 UTC]
im not saying it's a rip off of it at all, just that it's very similar. I like both for different reasons but i prefer the first one. Β
your artwork is still lovely of Coco, very adorable scene <3

Erix19 In reply to SheWolf-Daydreamer [2018-02-04 18:51:08 +0000 UTC]
A lot of people say so but I think the only similarity between the two is that they center around the Day of the Dead. Miguel and Manolo had vastly different reasons for going to the Land of the Remembered and the messages were somewhat different as well if you really look at the movies.
The Book of Life kind of combines concepts from Romeo and Juliet (Manolo letting the snake bite him after he thinks Maria is dead) and the Book of Job (two divine entities placing bets on particular mortals) while Coco is more about the importance of family.

SheWolf-Daydreamer In reply to Erix19 [2018-02-05 00:11:29 +0000 UTC]
i agree they are different in many ways but the main thing is about the day of he dead, the going to the other side, the laying of the guitar despite family wanting them to do something different.. they still play despite the wishes of their family. BUT you are right, the stories are different. I was purely commenting (not exactly complaining) on the biggest similarities
