Description

This is the first GIF where the tone of the series starts to change. There's less jokes, less humor, and it gets extremely dark towards the end of the series. Why? I suppose I wanted my story to feel more meaningful and more impactful. Though the humor still pops up from time to time, the animations became more of a vehicle to tell a story than an excuse to draw women hulking out. Although the core idea is still there, the story that was developing became more important to me.

Behind the scenes:

- Amanda's growth ray transformation was traced from a morph. I don't remember which one. Doubt I have the original file anymore.

- I also traced Anna pining Jenna to the floor, most likely from a mixed wrestling photo.

- I realized that the background didn't make any sense for when Anna and Jenna are talking to each other. We should see sidewalk for Jenna and sky for Anna. So, continuity problems.

- Amanda's animations are really terrible in this one. I wish I had taken the time to give her actual movement.

- Notice that the dunes change size on the beach? Yeah that bugs the crap out of me. This was because the beach was animated frame by frame without any ability to reference the previous image. Essentially, although I tried to re-use the previous frame, I generally had to draw everything from scratch and this messed up my dunes.

- I wish I had done an underwater transformation for Jenna. Watching her pop out all hulked was a bit anti-climactic.

- The second image of Jenna in the water was based on a morph of Trish Stratus I believe. Don't remember which one.

- There goes that time of day transition again.

Of all the animations, I think this one was the most disappointing in terms of the overall quality. It's because of this animation and the two subsequent ones that I realized I wanted to increase the production value. Unfortunately, increasing production value also meant increasing time. Although back then I had plenty of time, it soon became overwhelming to try to do all this work in MSPaint. I didn't know it, but I was outgrowing my tools and artistic limitations.
