Description
You find it in a place you would not expect to find it in.Or that's what seems to be happening.
In reality, IT finds YOU when it thinks you are ready to instantaneously realize the structure of the Everything; for the infinite amount of dimensions, overlapping in this hypersphere of a universe, to malevolently send you their deepest secrets; each identical to the previous one, yet varying slightly on atom-placement and degradation level, multiplied by infinity, for eternity; and after this, it seems perfectly reasonable for an eternity to end, because you already know everything there was, is, and will be, so you are left with a screaming void of overlapping and colliding data in your head... and the memories of how mentally numb you once were.
Sure, that's fun; why not?
P.S. No, I wasn't smoking, snorting, injecting, or otherwise 'taking' anything before writing that.
Drugs are bad, kids!
Hey, you! Like anthro chinese crested dogs and/or amphibians? Then why don't you
check out more pictures with Jinjing-Yu (and Adreea) over HERE ?
There. Finally an actual birthday gift for ecmajor !
Yeah. I... don't feel 100% satisfied with it, so I guess it's not worthy. T_T
So let's pretend that previous half-gift compensates this lack.
Fun fact! This is one of my oldest ideas (and I never really thought it's missing something, until now); it spawned in my head after I had a certain awesome dream, probably before I even had a dA!

Uh, well it is an entirely digital 3D render, and therefore CGI...
I'm just slightly confused about your first comment.

Oh, I was saying it looked like a still from a movie that mixed live action with stop motion Kinda like the dark crystal except more advanced, and well, with stop motion XD.

Well, you have a right to be unsatisfied with anything - after all, you are the only one who knows what it was supposed to look like. We all can only see what it ended up like.
But still, there's dissatisfaction and there's letting it rest because it is good enough....

And what a great way to utilize the new translucent flesh rendering... a really bright light in the palm of Jinjing-Yu's hand :3

Though for some reason I seem to be the only person not entirely satisfied with this piece, so I guess I'm just being stupid.
In the end, what matters is whether or not YOU like it, so yaaaaay, glad you dooooo!

She must be in this room: Hai Lolz
Fire flies do that sometimes. Β They are very bright bugs that are extremely fascinating in the dark.
Her hair looks magnificent, and it looks like she's got a little bit of fuzz on her feet from those particles.
This photo really reminds me of E.T.
This is a very nice gift.

Mmf... love the paragraph explaining it; so fits the picture. Β It's very fitting for a visual representation of someone realizing the secret to their own happiness. Β The look of happiness on Jinjing-Yu is so nice. Β And lighting... gods, it's incredible in this image. Β I really love how it just glows red through her fingers! Β That's so cool. Β I think it's a lovely gift myself, and I'm sure EC will like it.

But I'm very glad you like the piece, thanks!

hattonslayden In reply to tchaikovsky2 [2014-11-20 18:20:05 +0000 UTC]
i know the problem REAL well.Β i can get it fixed on one section only to have it fail elsewhere.Β so do you use normal and displacement maps for the extreme detail when you export from zbrush?
π: 0 β©: 1
tchaikovsky2 In reply to hattonslayden [2015-01-13 17:19:59 +0000 UTC]
Ugh, sorry it took me so long to reply to this; it got buried over the months.
But yeah, that's exactly what happens when I'm trying to rig, even though I'm doing it exactly as any of the seventeen million tutorials that I've seen show it.
And yes, I do use normal mapping, like, ALL the time! I usually export a medium res version of the model (roughly 60,000 polys for characters; except for Anza, where the chars' subdivision levelΒ is one step lower), then use normal maps for those levels. Sometimes, when a character has additional details sculpted in (pose-induced things), I would also export scene-specific normal maps, as well as displacement maps if the details needed more geometry. But I usually just do everything on the cheap, because RAM and HDD, and things usually still look good! Or good enough.
ALSO! Extreme detail is actually non-existant, sorta! Pore-level detail is something I never sculpt (read above for reasons), so I just add pores in Max. They're a more or less elaborate (depending on the character) mix of cellular procedural maps.

wow 60k is a heavy model and with multiple models of that level ....wow just wow
π: 0 β©: 1
tchaikovsky2 In reply to hattonslayden [2015-01-26 00:48:32 +0000 UTC]
Well, I wouldn't say it's that much. I mean, an average game character model can be, like, 20k these days. I thought 60k is rather cheap for an offline rendering, haha! You know, people normally use displacement maps along with multi-million tessellation levels, so... yeah.
I need more RAM. T_T
