M4 Sherman Dozer of Task Force X of 3rd Armored Division and 39th Infantry Brigade Crossing Siegried Line at Roetgen, September 15, 1944

These "dragon's teeth" or "Drachenzähne" were built to impede the movement of tanks and mechanized infantry. The idea was to slow down and funnel tanks into killing zones for anti-tank weapons. Land mines were placed between the individual "teeth" as well as barbed wire to impede infantry. These were built extensively along the Atlantic Wall and Siegfried Line, where many still remain to this day.
