Here is some Avatar fan art that I made.

I'm quite proud of how it turned out. Especially the sand and water. The waterbender and sandbender aren't as cool. Probably the best avatar stuff I've ever done though.

My personal avatar-universe character is a sandbender. I think they could do a lot of cool stuff in the show with sandbending, but unfortunately sandbending only plays a small role in the show. That's the main reason I made this, so I could kind of give myself what the show couldn't. As well as show everyone else what I see in my head when I'm talking about sandbending.

I have him fighting a waterbender because my older brother likes waterbending and his fan-character is a waterbender. So we have little showdowns all the time.

The story that I've made up for my sandbender so far is that he was born and raised in the desert with the other sandbenders. It's the same time period as legend of korra, and so by now the sandbenders are a little less isolated and my character (I haven't come up with a name for him yet) after meeting people from different places decides he wants to go to Ba Sing Se to learn other styles of earthbending (Mostly traditional earthbending). He goes to Ba Sing Se (which is now more modernized with cars and eletricity and stuff) and starts learning more traditional forms of earthbending. Though he still mostly uses sandbending (epecially when fighting). Because he uses sandbending so much he keeps a metal container strapped to his leg that is full of sand so that he always has some with him (I don't know if you can see it that well in the picture).
In Ba Sing Se he has to deal with the bending gangs and corruption that is prevalent in the city. Maybe even some equalists that live in Ba Sing Se.

That's pretty much all I have so far.

I would really like to see some other people's fan-made avatar characters so if you have some let me know so I can check them out. It would be awesome if you've got a little back story too.
