Description What can I say? This is a personal original piece, something I hadn't done in a while. Who knows, knows.

I love violence, what can I say, as people love nature, because nature is violence. And I'm not judging from the sidewalks of it, but as someone who both experienced and dealt it to others.

Nordics were onto something with the whole Valhalla concept.

Here's two tracks for the mood:

please critique and comment, as always, and enjoy)

PS. People think there's some religious statement here - there's none. Well, aside from the fact that I think that violence is pretty fucking good for mankind and if there was a god, he'd agree.

UPDATE: fixed some hand misproportion and rifle/barrel allignment problems.

Yeah, it's all fun and games until it happens to you. Well, not unless someone attacks you and you think 'great, justification for getting violent', but you know what I mean. It's not fun to actually get hurt. Not that I'm judging, I totally get the enjoyment of violence. Whether it's games, movies or combat footage from Syria, there's just something about all that mayhem that looks really cool, but you could never pay me enough to actually be there. It's obvious though that all the people travelling to join those ISIS crazies and others like them think differently.

To them, it's got to be exactly like the guy in this painting. Violence IS their god, death is their religion and life is simply a medium for them to spread their faith through bloodshed. They don't want to die, they simply don't care if they do, right until the point that it's actually their time to go and then you see the fear, not because they're dying but because they won't be able to kill anymore. Fun time's over. Either that, or they die with the thought of 72 virgins in mind. In that case, the fun's just beginning and they're just nervous on their first day of eternity.

Anyways, I'd agree that violence is great for weeding out the wicked since war attracts such people, but when they're the ones who win, that's when there are problems and they always seem to win. Then those strong enough to stand up to them do so and then yesterday's heroes become today's tyrants and yadda yadda. And all the people who just want to be left alone simply do not get what they want. I guess the only way to escape it is to move somewhere else. It might be cowardice, but in the end, the only ones who win are those who live.

Your thoughts seem to be that of a coward. Not actually trying to troll here, but you've displayed some interesting mental gymnastics to justify running and hiding from violence.

i like all the skulls and all the red, the walls towering into the sky and the bullets coming out of the clouds,
it's a shame some people cant tell the differences from bullets and bombs.

If the bombs are falling, wouldn't he get killed? Smashed to a pulp? Alongside the other bloody skulls? So he's not immune to violence per say, but is a victim himself.

Speaking of which, when will you do a piece on the Boston brothers? Or do you disapprove of muslims blowing shit up?

You have to be a very special brand of stupid to view whats happening in a surrealistic picture as a literary depiction. Those arent even bombs.

No, I dont do pictures on losers.

Right, they're not bombs, they're puppies filled with peace juice. You only do pictures on mass murderers so I thought the Boston bomb-attack fits your page right in.

Oh, and go fuck yourself.

It is always interesting to see your personal work, TD. I might not always comment, but I always think it is interesting.

In this, counter to say the Uber Alles pic ([link] ) which had a great layout or +HOLY+([link] ), which I didn't comment on because diametrically opposed views and a wish to avoid ideology crash, this picture lacks a certain bon vivre to it?

I has your traditional colours of black, red and white, which I can understand why (I like them no matter, but imho they can't beat blue and yellow, heh), but beyond that... the picture is nothing special

The white walls catch the viewers interest, but the red intersections cause a problem here: they have no coherent vanishing point and that causes mental disconnect with the viewers. We do not have our view instinctively led to the figure in the centre thru the cross-bars on the red partitions in the white, which I assume was your point? The bombs are in my eyes touched in to further lead the eyes to the actual view point, but they can't hide the missing vanishing point.

I can totally see your defendant, protective nationalist point, so to speak, with this. I can see the symbolism. But it vanishes to me in shoddy execution when I KNOW you can do better.

I was wondering when you were going to finish this one. I like the added raining bullets and the new details on the door.
Also, the Nordic people, in my opinion, have one of the most well thought out afterlives I have ever heard out, and learning a lot more about them are what made me become pagan in the first place.
By our natures, we are violence. Our violence begets violence, which begets violence, and a glorious cycle is born. The violent are not the freaks. The ones that reject their true natures are the abnormal ones.

You're correct on the god-violence. Every religious history is steeped in bloodshed. These free-love assholes deny it, but violence is in our nature as humans and as animals. Every revolution is based in it, and every problem is solved by it. Anyone who fails to see this is ignorant.

Always like when you post stuff like this, from your dreams and what have you. They always turn out looking cool and have a somewhat surrealist vibe. The black, red, and white tones always set a certain mood to it as well.

I like the little smirk on the guy's face, but the hand holding the knife just seems a bit off to me.

I think the only thing I can critique on is that the character's right arm seems a little stiff and the knife seems to be at a weird angle compared to how the hand is holding it. That's about it!!

I love all your work!!! I wish I had half your talent!

Name a god that hasn't a thing for violence. I don't admire it but I don't despise such phenomenon either.
Afterall that is what is reality.

I like the consept of this image. Reminds me of some sort of modern glasspainting.
The feeling of the end of times shines through.

Can't, not a primordial Demiurge, anyway. People make up new gods for modern times - but those gods represent human nature about as much as a loose stool represents a peaceful sleep.

Horus2299 In reply to TD-Vice [2013-03-20 23:15:14 +0000 UTC]

You were basically saying that you believe God would sometimes be violent. To be violent, and have the warrior spirit, you have to be willing to risk your life instead of being some fearful commufag that runs at the first sign of danger.

In Christianity, it's said that in the Second Coming Jesus will return with a sword, leading a massive army to pass judgement on the world. It isn't all peace and turning the other cheek as some would claim. If you doubt me, just listen to this little classic hymn: [link]

Basically you made a powerful inspiring statement with this piece, and it was nicely executed.

True, there was even that time he angrily threw the merchants out of the temple. These days, there'd be people criticizing that action for not being "Christ-like" enough.

Oswulf In reply to Horus2299 [2013-03-28 19:55:25 +0000 UTC]

Ayuh. Oh, but we're "judging" now! Remember the first commandment, the only one, if my Theology studies pay off - "Thou shalt NOT under any circumstances judge - for this is the whole of the law, above all things, offend none, and ignore any thought of Moral Law." I think it's from the Book of Common Douchebaggery, Chapter 6, Section 6, Paragraph 6.

Horus2299 In reply to Oswulf [2013-03-28 20:19:27 +0000 UTC]

Really? I thought it was Hezekiah 6:66...

Anyway yeah, there's nothing wrong with speaking against sin, as long as we hold ourselves to our own standards. The only reason the Bible says not to judge is because we don't know someone's soul, so we can't assume they went to heaven or not. These days it's like you can't even tell someone they shouldn't do something, or it's automatically "hatred" and "condemning" them to eternity in Hell.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Oswulf In reply to Horus2299 [2013-03-28 20:23:29 +0000 UTC]

I know. I know - what burns my ass is that people use the 'don't judge' clause to further liberal agendas. God help those of us who still believe sodomy is a sin - they then unravel the 'get bent, Nazi scumbag' carpet real quick, as if that's not judgmental.

But given that I'm responding to a comment of yours in the field we're inhabiting - I'm assuming you already share many of my grievances.

Lest I judge ...

Horus2299 In reply to Oswulf [2013-03-28 21:46:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm learning all about that first hand. We've got a black professor talking about theology in my Social Responsibility class. The guy's also a pastor, and refers to himself as a "radical liberal". He even called Judaism the "mother religion" of Christianity, that one really set me on edge.

If by "grievances" you mean the Sadducees and their white genocide (among other atrocities), then yes.

Oswulf In reply to Horus2299 [2013-03-28 22:34:07 +0000 UTC]

Among other things, it would seem we share some common ground. Indeed. Ah, Liberals. Someday I will rewrite that old John Lenin song and "Imagine" a world without them!

Sorry to hear about your Professor, though. I'm gonna be taking a "Liberation Theology" class soon. Unless I can find a way to avoid it. Pray for me, that my brain-cells do not implode...

The themes lend themselves well to the pic, and as people have said, it does sort of look like a tarot card. The person in the middle has a cool outfit. I am sort of confused about the 'walls', since to me they look a bit like razor blades. But, all in all, it's another well done piece.
