excellent work .. maybe a version that retains the wheeled drive system as well.

This could only be used for exploration, not military duty. Reason while the legs are great for ATV purpose, it must be slow and is too tall. For a explorer team it is perfect.

Interesting concept, though the fuel efficiency on the thing might make a hummer look economic since legs cost almost 4 times as much energy to operate than wheels.

Yeah, that is totally true. You would need a reactor core or something to power it in real life. Or a gas truck could follow it and every 3 1/2 minuets it could re-fuel.

I wonder... if you got your inspiration from Dominion: Storm Over Gift 3 ... 'cause your desert version of the hexapod looks just exactly like the vehicle in the mid-top section of this ([link] ) crappy picture... very impressive, brings back memories
Quaestio meus: How fast can it go ?

I'm not too sure what the game is. Never heard of it. Judging by the link though.. it does look similar. That is crazy!

Well ok, very thunderbird-esque, but I can't help but think those legs are very spindly for the body of that thing. Guess it would allow more for speed and agility in jumping like a spider.

Thanks man! Well the legs are not too skinny and there are 6 for extra stability.

I do have some animations. I'll see if I can dig up an animation and post it one of these days soon.

Kinda reminds me of Robot Wars when they'd travel through the wastelands in the big "travel walkers".
You've always got some awesome 3d models! Keep up the great work! I've just started getting into 3dsmax and am currently working on some ship models for a game I play (Freelancer). We'll see if they can compare to anything you make

Haha! I love that movie. I want to find it on DVD. Although it seems it is impossible to find on dvd. I have Robot Jox which is a classic also.

Yeah!! I found it once on eBay but never bought it ... didn't have the money, and I regret it.
Look on there though, I"m sure you'll find it
Robot Jox is awesome too!

Well I'm thinking it will be re-released some day. There is one more in the series that I saw years ago on cable. It was called (Crash and Burn). It barely featured any mechs and it was the lowest budget of them all.
I want it too though for nostalgia purposes. Oh and if I remember correct there was another film made by the same dude that was a sci-fi arena fighting type game. I cannot remember the name but I think it was called (ARENA). I really liked those b-movies for some reason.
