How they came to the clan:
Ghostfang had grown rather close with the loner Noah during his time among the clans. It took some time for the Shadowclan deputy to trust the loner, but he kept his end of the deal to trade with the clan cats, and was good on his word. One evening, the loner found Ghostfang, bringing with him two kits he claimed were his, seeming worried as he explained that a she-cat he had been close to had recently given birth, but was worried about the kits. The young tom kit's back legs were fused together, and both were weak and growing weaker. He had told the she-cat about the clans, and that they had medicine cats that may be able to help, and that he had a friend there who he trusted to take care of them, and so the two were given to Ghostfang. He was hesitant at first, they may have been kits of a tom he had come to consider a friend, but they were not clan kits, but even he could see that they wouldn't make it without help, and the code dictated that they help kits, regardless of their blood, so he took them to shadowclan where the medicine cat cared for them.

A young Queen by the name of Dewfrost volunteered to nurse the young kittens since hers had recently been weened. With her help, the kits began to recover though not everything went to plan. Ghostfang had attempted to leave the care of the kits in the paws of Dewfrost and the medicine cats, but the spunky little queen was not having that. As the kits began to open their eyes and move around, she insisted the tom name them, and referred to Ghostfang as their father when he was away (partially because it was easier then explaining the chaos of how they came into the clan, and partially as a way to get Ghostfang more involved with their lives.) He had brought them into the clan after all, and with no warrior blood, who would be better to teach them the ways of the clan then the deputy himself? Neither kit is currently aware that they are not clan born, or that Dewfrost and Ghostfang are not their real parents. Dewfrost also like to compliment Mothkit on how much she looks like Ghostfang.

Ghostfang's Relationship with the kits:
Ghostfang can best be described as an awkward parent. He doesn't really know how to act around the kits, and currently trying (and failing) to keep some sort of distance between him and the kits, while also trying to be sure they are well cared for, considering he had more or less been made their primary parent. He is a strict parent, sometimes treating them more like apprentices that need to be taught, rather then kits that just need to experience things, but he doesn't yell or get angry. Privately, like many clan cats, he doubts their ability to be good warriors because of their loner blood, and has pretty much come to terms with (what he assumed to be the fact) that Mothkit will be a mediocre warrior at best, and Twistedkit won't even have the chance to try, but he is invested in teaching them the warrior code, and making sure they respect and follow the rules, hence, his strictness. He has little tolerance for rule breaking, and wants to make sure the kits understand this.
