It has been quite a while since I last drew Charu/Casi on October 15th 2008 and anything. I was quite busy for the past 8 months that I barely got a chance to update my deviantART gallery. This sketch didn't take up a lot of time, but Photoshop did. This drawing is a tribute to Team Fortress 2, the world's most underrated android/computer program, and the late Tomoko Kawakami, the wonderful voice actress who played Charu's voice in the Ape Escape games.I can ensure that I am the first person in Team Fortress 2 fanart history to do a Ape Escape X Team Fortress 2 crossover drawing.
I hope this drawing will motivate and inspire Team Fortress 2 and Ape Escape fans to make more Ape Escape X Team Fortress 2 fanart. It's an untapped gold mine of ideas!
Now Sony, please hire Rina Sato to do Charu's voice acting for the games and I will forgive you for not releasing Saru Saru Daisakusen and Piposaru Racer overseas. She did a great job of doing Charu's voice in the anime, Saru Get Chu ~On Air~ and she is a worthy successor to Tomoko Kawakami.
Charu belongs to Sony.
Medic outfit belongs to Valve.

I recently have started playing Team Fortress 2.
So why do I see Specter as the Engineer? Is it because he also throws a tantrum when something of his is destroyed? After all, I have seen him build many 'toys' to questionable sizes, so what about a Paintball Sentry that whittles away cookie crumbs? XD

Specter as the Engineer? Wouldn't White Monkey fit with that class more?
I played TF2 for 4 years and the Engie doesn't throw a tantrum with his buildings get destroyed except in Gmod and Source Film Maker videos on Youtube.
I don't really see Specter as the Engie and I have no idea which class Specter would perfectly fit in. He is more of a mix between Soldier, Scout and Spy.

Well, can we see Specter rocket jumping, smack someone over the head with a baseball bat, or disguise as an enemy?
Yeah, White Monkey would suit Engineer more, but I wonder how he would dance. |D

Okay, now I'm not the sort of person to say this often, but what the heck are you smoking? How can that crossover possibly work? Can you possibly imagine Dr. Ozel as Team Fortress's Heavy? One is an American first person shooter with gory graphics, and the other is a Japanese anime!

I haven't been smoking anything, but I have been watching Meet the Medic numerous times and play hours of TF2.
I am glad that you ask how can that crossover possibly work. I was thinking about that when I was doing this drawing, so I typed out a long article on how the idea of making Charu as the Medic came to my head. It would be awfully too long to fit in this comment box, so here's the link: [link]
By the way, who in the world is Dr. Ozel? I looked him up on Google and Wikipedia and he has nothing to do with Ape Escape. Also, please note that this is a crossover between a really fun American First-Person-Shooter and a very underrated Japanese video game franchise. Ape Escape is NOT an anime even though there is a anime based on it. It's a video game.

Dr. Ozel is actually the name of the Professor in the series. In the first Ape Escape, in the Gadget training levels, you often see doors with the Prof's face on them and "Dr. Ozel" written on them in large, pixelated text, that's how I know his name. And I know that Ape Escape is a game, I'm saying in terms of style.

I think I remembered seeing his real name: Dr. Ozel. In fact, his name only appeared in both Ape Escape and the remake: On the Loose.
The one thing that confuses me is why couldn't all of the characters around him call him Dr. Ozel. It sounds better than calling him the Professor and makes him a more developed character.

Ah yes, well I think it adds a cool sense of mystery to the character, I mean we're two of the only Ape Escape fans who know the guy's real name!
